An Evening With Amratya Sen!

I went to Hotel Oberoi to hear from CEO mouth - CEO of M/s Texas Instruments. Unfortunately, there was some confusion in the function organized by The Economics Times. The organizer could not trace my registration. Many people were arguing with organizers to let them in. But I took decision to come out of that place. There is no point arguing to prove your existence in Indian scenario. There is no point. No body is going to listen. Even the young guy - boys or girls managing or involved in managing the show, have capabilities to demoralize and frustrate you. Even if you show them prited paper like as below.

We are pleased to confirm your participation in ”ETIG Knowledge Forum on Digitizing the Communication and Entertainment Era” in association with Texas Instruments at “The Oberoi Hotel” to be held on March 27th 2006.
How will the latest advances in digital technologies energize growth? How to innovate in this era? These are just few instances amid the leading sub-topics of the core session, by which he is going to shed light on the next generation of digitized Technology and its impact on Communication and Entertainment.

I was demoralized and sad. I went in analysis mode of self identification. What is my identity is? I came back. But I did not come abck home. I went to India Habitat Center with the promise to Janet to have dinner in Eotopia. Vidya remain very energetic when she advised us to make a round to Amphitheater. And there I had chance to make my evening as one of the best in the near past.

I had evening with Amratya Sen, Nobel laureate, Girish Karnad, Gulzar, Kamla das, Nandy and many more... What an evening to spend time with so many intellectuals of this country. What a present for a future writer? We had fantastic evening. We had juices, and snacks - fish fingers, fish Tikka, Shammi Kaba..... We had drinks with Amratya Sen. I got opportunity to talk to Amratya Sen in person. Great. I got opportunity to listen their discussions, their interactions, their joys and confusions. The meeting with Pakistani writer was another unique experience. She has taken my visiting card. Hope she mails me back. It will be great. Life has something in store…. Let us wait and enjoy! Posted by Picasa

Fooling Poor Indians!

It is so easy to fool large section of the population of developing world. In India, I observe, it is a very common affair. The intellectuals of the society keep fooling Indian i.e. common people with their writings, their concerns, their feelings, their successes, their failures and so on. He intelligent people can fool large section of the population with their selfish speeches, views and expressions. That is what our Nobel laureate Amratya Sen is doing. He is fooling Indians shamelessly.

Amratya Sen left India and settled in America. Hardly anybody remembered him till he got Nobel Prize. He remained in America. He earned his entire livelihood there. He married there. He produced children there. He studied and taught there. He earned good name there. He maintained his brilliance because of the supporting and encouraging environment of USA. He owes so much to USA for his survival, progress and successes. He ate salt of USA. Once he got Nobel Prize, he has gone in ‘Raman Effect’ now. He is trying to earn glory on his past good work. Whenever he speaks, he speaks poison for poor and growing Indians. He is misguiding them through his speeches, thinking and expressions. He must stop this. Growing Indian must rise above caste, creed, region and language to discard these forceful wrong ideas.

How can now after so many years of exploitation of American soil, he comes to exploit Indian soil? How can he can this namakharami with USA. On what basis he is trying to convince Indians that war on terror by Americans are not essential? He is going like his communist partner of this country. He is too much influenced by his home state philosophy who have allowed communist to rule state for so many years, approximately 30 years now. He should give some self introspection before he speaks. He must analyses on the need of the hour. He must learn part of knowledge from his economist friends Man Mohan Singh or Ahluwalia. If he is interested in seeing Indians or even Bengalis (which he feels proud of), he must not speak and write these things. He must rise above these mean thinking. These mean thinking has kept India behind for more than sixty years even after independence. He must do some kind of self analysis to reach to some conclusion and pass something futuristic to the people of this country. Hope our fellow poor Indian will understand this? Posted by Picasa

Unlearn to Conquer This World!

It is great. How many of us realise the real facts of life? We need to take almost u-tern to conquer this world. This fact was accepted and written in the front page of Sunday Times of India, Delhi Edition. This year Miss India-Universe Neha Kapur confirms the real and hidden facts of life. She had to literally unlearn everything she knew(marked in yellow color in picture).

I have been writing and researching on this aspect since last more than twenty years. Unlearn is a part and partial of practical life. Our growth depends upon this. Our achievement depends upon this. Our success depends upon this. Our balance and approach to life depends upon this. Our reaction to outside world depends upon this. We have to unlearn all things we have been learning. We have to unlearn the way we have been living. We have to unlearn our response. We have to unlearn our priorities. We have to unlearn many more things. The list is endless. It is not possible to list in this single blog. We have to reverse our learning process to reverse our overall output in life from a failure to successful individual.

To learn more about unlearn, read my blog at www.360.yahoo.com/kamekish also. Further you can read my recently published book on www.lulu.com/content/231873 Posted by Picasa

Importing Ideas!

India have been importing technology, equipement, investments and so on... We have been importing ideas too but the main question arises, can importing ideas would be able to correct our wrongs of centuries?

Today, if India dreams to be developed, there is a big question emerging all across. Can importing ideas will be able to make us developed? Who will dare to see us developed? Let us dream and think? Posted by Picasa

Searching Inner Strength in Developing world!

Stephen Covey spoke to MDs, CEOs, HR heads and young business managers from companies like GE, Fidelity Capital, Citibank, Amex, DHL Aviva and Bharti Televentures in Delhi on 21 Mar 06. The talk is about the 8th habit to take the individual and organization ahead in 21st century. But, I think the problems in developing world is different than what is generally perceived or appear from outside. We need to give due emphasis to some new conceptualization in understanding basic human traits and organization behaviour in the developing world.
The one very important aspect of inner strength of human being is found so contradictory to the prevalent norms. Existing sources of inner strength defined in the prevalent literature is not sufficient for even brilliant person in the fast changing society. Especially when the country like India is ripe to become superpower in next 10-15 years time, these sources of strength are inadequate. How could Nikita a poor highly educated girl of developing world, generate inner strength from existing sources like relatives, ancestors, background, associates, friends, knowledge, experience, exposure, achievements or wisdom? They fail, they fail miserably. Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi the famous icon of Gandhi family could boast of getting inner strength, not she. She has to look elsewhere. First she has to be different, terrific and much more resilience. She has to generate her own inner strength to keep going. Everyday, she has to evolve with new traits to be happy, optimistic and moving. For Rahul Gandhi, aiming big may be as natural as growing Litchi in Muzzaffarpur, but for her, aiming big is as difficult as searching for the world trade center at Zero Point in New York from her existing level. How can you say for her that aiming small is a crime? What is she going to do with aiming high when she has to ensure that she gets the nod for new projects from her boss, where she can put very hard work, put all her best knowledge to treat poor people, get exploited by rich patients and feel sense of achievement of being in the best profession of medicine to nurture humankind?
Inner strength is thus not available as easily as is presumed to be available. Like knowledge, it is also to be acquired or achieved or gained. It does not come to human beings through mere birth. Inner strength remains as illusive as money, position, caste, creed and status. It would be really interesting to analyze those sources from where they are presumed to be originating. In general, inner strength comes from three radical sources –

Inherited,
Circumstances and Situations, and
Human survival instincts.

All three sources are very distinct in nature. Human growth outside the domain of biological or biochemical growth remains very-very complex. Like growth of organism depends upon many external as well as internal factors, human growth in a life-span depends upon many external as well as internal factors. Generally any such discussions have been kept limited to medical sciences or psychological studies. There are other aspects which have not been given their due in the course of human civilization. It would be very interesting to discuss and analyze these aspects keeping human growth in mind.
In this situation, achieving the task from effectiveness to greatness is not simple. I do not know, how far, Stephen Covey understand these complications. This remains a challenge to management gurus. Even if you are highly motivated, focused, dedicated and hard working, they will be fruitless. The effort of a simple man will not generate significant impact to the environment. All the efforts are going in vain. They will go in drain. We need different thinking. We have to find alternative ideas. We have to generate different theories. Posted by Picasa

Ambani Mega Dream City

Ambani has shown the path to millions since last few decades. Dhirubhai has changed the life of millions in the last century. Now Mukesh is showing a new world to millions. The concept of mega city has ensured that million of people from all across the world will have a chance to live a sophisticated life of 21st century, the humanity deserves in this era. I am forced to go little down the history lane to emphasis the importance and advantages. The life of future waits for those who dares.
The concept of house in civilization has changed drastically. Earlier, in villages, there were mostly kuchcha houses with few exceptions of brick houses. People were too social animal with very little requirements in and around the house. They were satisfied with the four wall concept where they could sit, relax, fight, sleep, produce and rear children, protect themselves from natural disasters and so on. Subsequently as civilization grew, there is drastic change in the housing condition. After approximately one hundred years of Le Car Busier, the biggest Architect of 20th century who is the architecture of planned city like Chandigarh (Punjab), the least effect has been observed on Indian continent because of many reasons including financial constraints and broad exposure. Good housing facilities could be limited to few elite who dared to drain for a good life style in spite of brain drain in the country. Most part of the civilization remained cut off from the basic facility of a good house because of the social, financial and cultural limitations. The housing condition has changed almost unimaginably. Today, when housing industries being opened to world market, Indian in particular and the people from all developing world will have to change their whole concept of housing. They will be forced to change the age old housing concept because of inherent compulsions. Today you visit any part of India or even in any other developing countries; there are two kinds of houses. One is a slum type and the other Apartment type.
The slum type houses people who have directly moved from villages to the cities or town. This type of housing has moved along the persisted security environment of the human civilization. People find themselves comfortable in slum houses as per their ancestral housing conditions. They feel safe on ground. They never see the volume of pollutions and other mind boggling scarcities of life. The life remains in beggarly conditions even though people have money to spend. They cannot have basic amenities in such houses. They do not have sanitation facilities. They do not have roads, playgrounds, greenery, and cleanliness; forget getting the modern connectivity that the people of the generation of 21st century deserve.
The apartment type houses all across the country and the world have their own advantages. A flat in a apartment matches the requirement of the modern life. Even if you have less money, you are privileged to have all the basic facilities, you need as a human. It is terrific pleasure to have the basics in our day to day life as a human being. The problem with civilization is that we do not realise the feeling till the time we live in that environment or situations. It is all human. The problem in the developing world is that there are few forward looking and educated person who take advantage of such changes. They have a comfortable life. Their basic amenities are available at a meager cost while the backward and conservative people are not in a position to enjoy the basic amenities of life. They always remain in scarcity. The requirement of modern life can be made available at very meager cost through these flats. This was clearly and amply researched by Le Car Busier in around 1900. The flat provides the kind of connectivity a family needs; the kind of basic facilities life demands, the kind of security a working family dreams, the kind of protection to their elder of the family the society wants. People have to get used to apartment type of houses very fast showing a change of not only one generation but many generations. These have to be done by every human to be desirous of having basic human privileges irrespective of their cast, creed, religion or region.

Today, when a graduate from a poor village gets a job at call center in NCR of Delhi or any other metros, for that matter, along with his wife, buys a flat on the 14th floor with their own income. The changes in house condition from a village to town is so drastic that any living relatives, of minor conservative thinking not major, may find it very uncomfortable to live in that house. People, who were used to live in the slum type of house on the ground, find it daring and adventurous to climb on the fourteenth floor. It appears to them that they have risen to a crazy drive. They find moving in corridors difficult. They find going to western toilet tough. They feel uncomfortable if they find tiles in the bathroom. They do not like neat and clean kitchen system. They find it uncomfortable as they do not observe dust around. Life on the fourteenth floor with all basic amenities appears to them like hell. Unless they get used to comfortable living, the comforts of life give them sleepless nights. They cannot digest much. They fight with their working members of the family. The working members of the family is away on whole day duties for 12-14 hours of the corporate culture in the developing world, they find it intolerable when they hear complaints from their relatives who are provided all comforts of life on fourteenth floor. If these relatives are stronger and working couple is shaky, the family is forced to sell the flat and move to ground floor house in a remote place of the town or cities. The working person may find tough to commute to their working places but the relatives find it comfortable on the ground with meager facilities. Thus life has not improved but has gone berserk with the development.

The society in the nineteenth century has moved from village to slum side or roadside. The citizens of the poor states with meager knowledge, little money and less risk taking abilities have left their villages for a better life. The better life is not available in even civilized urban or rural societies. They have either made slums in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chenai or Bangalore etc or road side houses in poor states like Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa etc. In slums or road side houses, there are no basic amenities. There is no Government machinery who would be able to provide basic amenities of today’s human being to these wide spread civilization. The concepts of village, society, colony or even cities have to be restored so as to provide basic amenities and necessities of life. The human beings in the diverse or widespread geography will not be able to enjoy the fruit of growth of their offspring's or ancestors without making changes in the housing condition. The housing concept has to change with time. This has to be amended by each individual and family for the benefit of human civilization. Today, a person or families have to look into complete holistic requirements of life when they plan to build their house in order to make their life comfortable. Mukesh Ambani is showing the path to millions through his imaginative ideas and proposals. This is where the future lies! Posted by Picasa

Growth is Our Birthright!

The developments, which were witnessed in Western countries, took more than 100 years to grow and mature. The long period of 100 years provided comfortable time for individuals and families to unlearn and make changes depending upon the situations. They remained comfortable to unlearn things and learn new things in few generations time. But the kind of development, Asian countries, Muslims, African Americans etc are witnessing or shortly will be witnessing in this Information Technology era is hardly giving time to individuals or families of even one life-time forget about getting generations. The changes are taking place so fast and so much that one individual in one lifetime cannot simply perceive and learn. But we the people of developing countries, Muslims and African Americans have the advantages of already seen the development through TV, literature and other medium of communication. They have the complete set of experienced observed by the people of last century. Even though practically facing the situation is really mind-boggling. That is where, the importance of ‘Unlearning’ is very vital not only for the individual growth but for the growth of society, states, countries and rather whole humanity. These changes are not affecting millions now but billions (as per present estimates of 2004, 1.1 billion people live in extreme poverty) of people of this world. Unlearning is very important and essential. The skill has to be acquired, harnessed and innovated. The NGOs and other charitable organizations have to come forward to take up these Herculean tasks for eliminating the social gaps. The human rights activists have to initiate their activities in these directions. The knowledge of unlearning has to be converted as mass movements.

We must consider the whole world as one family. We should cross the barrier of religion, region, caste or creed for making relationships or marriages. Generally, we had been contented with meeting and making family based on caste, language or region. We should stop marriages based on caste or region. We must learn from Hema Malini or Amir Khan. We must carefully witness the growth chart of Wafah Dufour Bin Laden who is aspiring to quench her thrist for stardom. The time has come when we should openly welcome and institutionalized entry of people from across the world. We should stop asking the people of their caste and region to make an opinion or companion. Growth is an intense human feeling. Every individual born on this earth wants to achieve growth. No body wants to live a secluded life in the forest and jungles without basic amenities. No body wants to just die just like that if given a chance. The knowledge and exposure remains the only hurdle in the growth of individuals. The technological developments have provided immense opportunity to individuals to garb for their benefits. The growth of technology is boosting the growth of humanity in a big way.

The access and approach in this direction will change the overall thinking of the human beings. The kind of self-confidence, which will be generated in the new environment of accessibility and learning, they will pave the way for new approaches towards life. Human beings, who have suffered for centuries and were forced to do very rough or menial work, would find a very new and encouraging yellow color jobs in service sectors through their gained knowledge. The jobs which will emerge in these sectors will compel the civilization to unlearn their old needs of local or regional languages, close society and inherent culture. The people will opt for a better life and better location with basic amenities. Today, if Gandhiji would have been around, he would not have talked about non-violence or non-cooperation to awaken the fearful people but would have shown them the benefit of video conferencing, e-mail facilities and yellow color jobs in ITES (Information Technology Enable Services), sitting in front of the computer screen and talking to the world. The knowledge-based society will force innovation in the years to come in a systematic manner. A well-balanced and well-educated young person will be sufficiently motivated to take up the entrepreneurships through innovations. The need of the capital will be met by the growth of economy across wider section of population. Even Muslims will not be way behind. The Hamas or Bin Laden will be thing of past. It may be matter of few years.

Once the catch 22 of innovation grips developing people, they will almost encounter the situations what American or European had experienced during Industrial Revolution in the last century. The Information Revolution and IT Revolution have shown the path to the growing population. They have provided tremendous confidence. They have generated sufficient capital to boost entrepreneur culture. Rich starts craving and initiate living much better life; poor starts crave to live a life of rich rather initiate living life of rich. There is a tremendous surge of better life all around. We shall be in a position to generate sufficient capital to recognize, respect and harness the calibre and intelligence of an individual. When Muslim women can do this, why not other individuals? When niece of Osama does this, there is no reason other Muslim young will not crave for this. The broad exposure of better life will show the path to the children of next generation. Posted by Picasa

Michael In Burqua!

What a life of convenience? Michael Jackson is in Burqua! Sometime it is very convenient to live a peaceful life. No body will be able to recognise you. At this juncture when Muslim religion is passing through turmoil, such acceptance of Muslim religion may have potential to become famous. Pop will now teach Muslims to pop dance. Great News. We have to Deliver!

We have reached a point, where we are in a position to provide and take entirely different and drastic decisions for our life. We are confident that in the time to come, we as Indians should be able to provide directions to the society and the dream of global village for the betterment of humanity according to the direction of our ancestors who always preached to act like ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. We have to take the lead to lead the society. As a largest deep-rooted democratic system, we as a nation are in position to contribute our part in making the large section of the population a developed one. The responsibility of excelence lies on all of us - Indian or non-Indians everywhere. The future depends upon us. The next generation is not going to execuse us for our slakness. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has told categorically to rise, awake and deliver.

India - As A Developed Nation

India became independent in the year 1947, after approximately 200 years of British rule. During the British rule, the law and order situation were maintained for all the varied communities of these regions, as it appears from the historical evidence available in the books. The maintained law and order has acted as a boon to the development of these areas in various fields. There has been significant development in all the directions of human civilization within the framework of those periods in history. The growth of its new capital at New Delhi is an open example. The railway lines spread across the country. Schools, universities and other educational institutions were built for development. The industries were given priority. The growth of M/S Tata and its factories including the plants established in one of the poorest and remotest place in this part of the world are like a seed for the future of the coming centuries. Tata constructed one of the finest hotels during that period of history. These developments show the complete cohesiveness of public and private enterprises even during those old times when other parts of world were still preparing to fight world war.

After independence, India as a separate nation from its erstwhile Indian continent sets its own destiny on the night of 15 August 1947. Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru with his magnificent vision of future of a nation set course the development and construction of a sound infrastructure in a very systematic manner. The development of big dams, huge industries and world-class establishments became the backbones for the future of a country. In 1951, when world standard Indian Institutes of Technology were planned and started, it gave the direction and dream to this country. The students who got educated from these institutes have become today the torchbearers of the country’s new economy. Today, they are leading this nation from the front. Because of their significant broad development in almost every field, they are in a position to give direction in every aspect of life.

The vision and direction which was set for this country after independence, based on our old Indian traditions and culture of considering the whole world as one, gave a clear direction for 21st century in the mid of 20th century itself. Only thing lacking was some kind of implementation and systematic direction. Today, we talk about global economy, global Village, open market and so on, but these things are available in the Indian literature of the past. The planners who have set the direction for this country fortunately took the vision from those old cultures, tradition and publications and led the nation. The great freedom fighters got inspired with these visions for independence of this country. These visions produced many great thinkers and visionaries. Swami Vivekananada was one of the creations of that time. He was one of the finest thinkers at the beginning of 20th century to show the path to humanity. He wrote and conveyed his messages to the people of this country and the world. The world in general and India in particular benefited from his visions.

Today in the long history of Indian continent, it is happening to almost all the Asian countries together. When the other part of the world economy is rising at a meager rate of 2-6% per annum, the economy of the Asian countries is increasing even at the rate of 20-30% in a few cases. Since the last few years the Indian economy is rising at the rate of 6-9%. With the existing momentum of Indian economy, it has shaken the whole world. It appears that the elephant is rising and moving. Today, when Indian economy is rising at the rate of approximately 9% and hopefully this may go up to two figures shortly, it will shake and shape the economy of the world. Today, the world is recognizing the strength of 540 million youth of this country not for the benefit of these 540 million youth but for the benefit of the people of existing developed nations. These will benefit the millions of the Asian countries. These factors will change the course of evolution of the future. The sweeping move of Asian nation has generated hope for the entire world community. We have witnessed future. We have encountered hope. We have seen dream coming true. We have to dream more and more.

Transform The World!

The co-operation between two democratic countries in the world has potential to change the course of humanity for betterment. The whole world needs democratic way of life. Hardly anybody will ever accept any other form of Governance (if given a chance). Can these two biggest democracies of the world pursue these missions and claim to achieve some kind of success? Certainly, it is a matter of time and discussion!

Till the time world achieves some kind of democratic process in form; all free people must enjoy freedom. The technology has given tools and mission. The technology has given freedom. The technology has given liberty for all humanity to feel little more free irrespective of their situations and compulsions. People can feel more free than earlier times, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion or region. It is a great time in the history of human kind. Let us enjoy these moments together!

Once we achieve freedom and start enjoying it, we will certainly and automatically, start spreading it in some form or other. That is the beauty of the good things of life. Free and freedom will reach to large section of human beings in the days to come. We all will be responsible for these changes in society. Let us enjoy these privileges! Posted by Picasa

Bush In Action!

The President who did not know what is India, has surprised whole world with his dynamic action. His action will make a diffrence to this chaotic world. Posted by Picasa

Rules are for Fools!

We hardly appreciate the practical facts of life.Every rules and traditions are for poor and deprived people. This has to be understood by growing people. You can never grow in life the way you are supposed to grow in this century. Every hard working and aspiring people must understand this. You have to make your own rules to succeed in life.

Geberally, the people coming out of middle class family strugle hard to come upto some level, but the later phase of life become too confusing with plenty of fatal aspirations. The person is unable to cope up with all the extreme situations of life.

In life, there is an urgent need that extreme situations should be avoided to achieve certain amount of excelence. We must try to be in one domain to achieeve the excelence. The mind can effectively work in one domain only. Posted by Picasa
