I Saw Future

Around a year back one fine evening I was walking on the footpath of Cannaught Place in Delhi along with my wife and daughter. It was the same path from where I started my journey to this metropolitan city of a beautiful country called India. I originate from a very small place in India. I have seen deprivation from very close. My earnest desire to grow and witness growth has given me opportunities to see riches and successes on the way. On the footpath on that day when we were passing through a bookstall, I showed my wife the kind of books available on that stall for Indians.

In the bookstall there was not a single book authored by an Indian writer. I explained her that how I have lived my life observing this situation for last twenty years. I claimed that this situation would not continue for long. Indians need books of Indian authors. Growing Indians are impatient to read the mind of growing Indians. They need solution of their problems according to their own situations and surroundings. There is no way; I can ignore this emerging trend. If I have the capability to write, I must write whatever I feel. Young and vibrant India and energetic Indians need this. Age old Ravindra Nath Tagore alone can not quench the thirst of impatient Indians. I anticipated, within few years, Indian authors are on demand. That is coming true slowly but steadily. Even if I am not on demand, my prediction has come true. My wife is the lone witness of my path- breaking prediction. I saw future.

The courses in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and subsequent career in Air Force gave me immense opportunities to see the emerging world. I saw the great opportunities from close quarters in the field of communication and computers even though I was unable to harness the complete advantages of these opportunities because of many inherent hurdles associated with a common man. I have lived professional career life for more than twenty years and still living with all my predictions and anticipation without making much headway. The books have always been fascinating to me. They have information and knowledge. I considered books as aspiration, inspiration, motivation, inner strength, god, godfather and certainly a source of wisdom. Books have shown me the path in this long journey of lone battle. Today, I am happy that India is thinking the way I thought for last twenty years.

I moved from telecom to Information technology in last twenty years of my professional career. When I took premature retirement from Air Force, there was again a big dilemma to set course of the life. I remember adding more than five zeros in my income in my last twenty years of my earnest profession. But the question is can I do the same in next twenty years? Even if yes, shall I be able to achieve the desired contentment? What should be the future? The vision of future seen on the footpath of Cannaught Place should give some direction. Is it future? I have set some direction and moved. I am moving in blind tunnel without any light from other end. Is it future?

The new breed of writers includes VS Naipaul and Salman Rashdie. We have Tharoor, who resides outside India. I have my own doubt on the wisdom of this news article written in Delhi Times of The Times of India, titled ‘Read an Indian Author Lately?’ When reporter talks about Chetan Bhagat, Ashok Banker, Kiran Desai and others, it makes sense of Indian ness. But I am surprised when reporters talk about Jhumpa Lahiri, Vikram Chandra, and others. India still needs writers from its soil. India needs writers who have emerged from this soil to face the future world. That remains a challenge for all these reporters to search little more and wide. Reporters need to come out of their own shell of comfortable reporting.

Indian Editors and publishers are the biggest hurdle in achieving the dream of Indians. Indians can never get good books and futuristic writings till the time these so called editors and publishers are ready to lose their regionalist, religionist and sectarian views. Indian editors and publishers abhor creativity. They are on run to look for famous and beautiful to earn their bread. They are conservative. They are not ready to take risk. They have to become futuristic to see the world of tomorrow to overcome these problems. These are not hypothetical views but a real fact of the publishing industry. Since last one year, I have experienced these in my close encounter with editors and publishers in India. When, www.lulu.com provides online publishing of any written material, there is no way, why Indian editors and publishers can not enhance their resources? Why do not they see future?

In last one year, I have attended plenty of book launches at Habitat world, India International center and even at Taj Mahal Hotel when Shobhaa De gave free cocktail party open to all, I have met Khushwant Singh in his book launch at IIC, I have heard Medha Patkar and others, I have experienced the scarcity of relevant materials in Indian publication. People are in general avoiding risk. They do not believe in researching future. They are busy in researching their past. From my point of view, you can not have a better future on glorified past. We need to research on future. We need to talk about future. We need to discuss future. We need to write future. We need to see future. Future is future; no body would like to have their past as future in this 21st century. Let us concentrate on future.

English is an universal language. Even Ravindra Nath had to translate his own writings in English to garner the recognition. Still, we find hell lot of Bengalis speaking true to their core to have the love for their mother tongue. The concept of mother tongue is restricted to the poor and middle class achievers. The situation is obvious among the people of all regional languages. But with emergence of Internet, Bloggings, Networking and communication, the extinction of this love of mother tongue should not last a lifetime. Universal language should not remain in the custody of rich and privileged only. It has to reach to all educated people on this earth. Who does not want to be networked and heard? Yahoo answer provides the tool. Future relies on future language.

I consider it a crime when developing countries are not teaching their citizens developed technologies, futuristic education and universal languages. The governments of all developing countries are ignoring this obvious future. They are committing crime on their citizen. That is the reason, youths and educated people are getting frustrated, depressed and disgruntled. The rise of Indian authors writing in English will certainly improve the existing intellectual bankruptcy. The future will tell the stories of future in the language of future. Posted by Picasa

Leaders Abuse Power

Leaders of poor people all across the world are abusing the power bestowed on them through democracy. Leaders are neither using the intelligence nor sources of wisdom available at their disposal to eradicate poverty and deprivation among the poor people. Most of the leaders are engulfed in praise and glorification of self or their kith and kin. This is criminal offence in the court of law of humanity. These are being committed shamefully by these leaders. And surprisingly most of the intellectuals around them are also exploiting this human weakness to maintain their undeserved status.

This subject is very vast and certainly difficult to recognize. We all are engulfed so much in our own problems that few shortsighted leaders are taking the whole of community for a ride. This is happening all around us. The normal intelligence remains baffled, confused and vague. I have taken the responsibility to take up this complex issue and will try to explain for few people who really get interested to know the facts out of massive misinformation in this information age.

The recently concluded NAM summit fortified my belief. The leaders from 115 countries gathered together in this well developed unipolar world just for their own sake. They gathered not to remove poverty. They gathered not to overcome the problems of malnutrition, mismanagement, deprivation, human rights, drug abuse or terrorisms. They not even gathered to solve the problems of weapons of mass destruction which some of the partner countries are quietly continuing. They did not gather to discuss their problems. None of these countries took up the problems of their own people. This is the total abuse of the power bestowed on them through democracy (at least in most of the cases).

The leaders of 115 countries gathered and talked about the policies which have become irrelevant around 30 to 40 years back. They just talked about the drawbacks of rich countries. They passed the messages that how rich countries are exploiting poor countries. They talked the ill intention of the developed countries. They talked the flaw of free world. They discussed the drawback of human rights without getting an inch of inhibition about their own human rights violation records. They made all poor and deprived people little more poor, deprived, sick and fearful. They motivated few more poor intellectuals to fight with rich countries for the irrelevant causes.

Some of these leaders of poor and deprived people gathered again at UN General Assembly and proceeded doing what they do best i.e. abusing the developed countries. They do not feel ashamed of using such platform to extend and glorify the status of the poor. They do not feel ashamed in talking about the rights of poor. Leaders of poor should try to eradicate poverty first then anything else.

Are poor born to remain poor for life? I have my own doubts. My perception is that these leaders are taking these irrelevant issues unnecessarily to bring their doomsday closer. In this world of awakening, such conferences, meetings and seminars has no future. NAM has no future. NAM has future only when these leaders sit and discuss to eradicate poverty. They discuss to enhance education standard. They discuss the crime against women. They discuss to provide basic amenities to poor societies. The leaders of poor have some responsibilities than blaming rich especially if they want to eradicate poverty and deprivation from their own land in this era of opportunities.

It is an irony for the poor people. Their leaders talk about domination and threat while leaders of developed world talk about democracy, human rights, peace, tackling terrorism, eradication of poverty and so on. The leaders of poor have some responsibility when they talk to their partner across the world. They must talk and discuss about the problems which the country is facing. The leaders of poor must re-awaken to realise their own potential.

Even Hamid Karzai warned the world that terrorism is rebounding in his country and the problem had to be fought beyond Afghanistan’s borders as well as within. Why is he not making correct decisions to sort out the problems? Even Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez talked about domination, exploitation and pillage of people of the world, but unable to come out with any plan for eradicating drugs and terror problems. Iran never loses opportunities to tell the world about the threat from USA; however he hardly talks about democracy, human rights and poverty eradication. Because of his statement, many youth must be going towards terrorism or destructive mentality, but what is he doing so that youth move towards more constructive and progressive tasks?

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh talked about high level discussion with Pakistan when arms and ammunition is being found all over country. Pakistan is still supplying bulk of terrorist, arms and ammunition to almost all the part of the country. Country is living under threat. Poor are unable to have any security. But still, most of the poor are fighting to be nationalists while leaders are moving with irrelevant issues.

Recently, when Jeffery Sachs came to India, he talked about Millennium Development Goal of United Nation. The country when spending only .9% of its GDP has to spend to 4% to provide enhanced and desired medical facilities for poor. The common men in this country must get the desired medical facilities. There is no reason all these leaders of poor do not discuss about Millennium Development Goal for eradicating poverty by 2015. NAM was a good platform to discuss and talked about eradicating poverty rather abusing the power.

The growth of technology has provided means and reason for all the poor to have access to basic resources at meager price and little efforts. This infrastructure has capabilities to remove their weaknesses. The development is taking place in large scale among the young and energetic and conscious people. That is the reason, what I hear plenty of statistical progress among the people all across the world. But these data is not reflected in the talk of these leaders who are still looking backward for their policy decisions. These undercurrents provide me pleasure in conveying that freedom and progress is the need of the hour. In next few years, we will start observing changes all across in the world. The leaders and executives must take the note of these developments. People must have hope. Posted by Picasa

Pakistan First Bikimi - Congrats America

On this day of 11 Sep 2006, I want to reiterate my feelings and observation that every individual born on this earth wants freedom. In this world of modern network, there is no reason to believe that they will not get it. There is no reason that why women can not live life of her choice? Why she can not get educated? Why she can not earn? Why she should live like a cow? That is what happens in Muslim world. That is what happens in deprived society. This has to vanish. One Pakistani woman has done it. More will follow the path. No Osama will be able to contain the desire of human to be free.

The way poverty has been eliminated since last few decades, it has generated hope and gratification to just less than 3 billion ladies across the world that they can have their share of freedom and pleasure. They can reach to top in almost all the fields. Today Nooyi has became CEO, Rice is the powerful woman in America, German has Chancellor Angela Merkel and so on. Few leaders here and there can not keep the aspiration of half of the human being limited.

On this accession, I wish America succeed in their efforts to bring democracy to even Muslim world. Democracy may provide some freedom to citizen to understand their rights. At least nobody wants to be in black Burqua in the hard sunny day. The many of Pakistani, Afghanistan and even Indians should be seen in bikinis or whatever they desire. That is what the ultimate of humanity is. Total freedom is not option; it is a compulsion to achieve poverty free society. No society can have any other way to eliminate deprivation. The efforts of American and America to bring freedom to this world remain praiseworthy. It is generating fruitful results. Thank you America to bring Pakistani in bikinis!

Comments

Dear Haley, I am fortunate to see poverty and richness from very close quarters. I generated so many ideas that I have written a complete book on this. This is published on lulu.com. No society can progress or eliminate poverty without giving respectable position to their women counterpart. Rest all from my point of view is statistics without any result in the future. So thanks if it creates some interest. Posted by Picasa

Directionless Government Pays for Love

Indian government has become directionless in last few years. There are various reasons for these situations. Many reasons are not in the control of the government. Many ministers are compelled to show their ignorance of present situations. They are talking old concepts, ideas and policies which are irrelevant in today’s scenario. These are resulting into a sense of directionless in the country. In this short blog, I shall explain my views.

It is not like that misdirection was not earlier but after India became one of the fastest growing economies; government is getting exposed clearly and frequently. The less knowledgeable and poorly informed ministers find themselves in mesh more than ever.

Just take the example of Arjun Singh. He is bent on to show his presence even at his death-bed by proposing reservations, which is keeping poor, deprived for generations. He has no genuine reason for his personal beliefs that reservation will bring Congress back in UP or it will bring Rahul to center stage. Even if it brings, I doubt that people will excuse Arjun Singh for long. Even after reservations, he is abused by Congress party for Vande Mataram episode. He does not know where to hide himself. He is shamelessly enjoying his fiesta with all his ignorance, frustrations and misdirection.

Lalu Yadav when came as railway Minister, worked for earthen pots. He earned credit to safeguard the poor and deprived status of masons’ community. Again by the time, Railway was turning to profit making organization just because of sheer inertia and work done by previous railway ministers, he moved forward to take all credits for the job done by others. Is this the way, he is dreaming to become Prime Minister of the country? It is shame. Modern connected civilizations have tolerated ignorance, misguidance for long. Now, I do not think that this ignorance will work for long. India needs to stand on its sophistication and global standard.

All leaders were talking about Jaya Bachhan for profit of bill. But it hardly took few days to cover this bill to almost all leaders especially from ruling class. Even Sonia was not spared. Till today, she has not been able to join the Chairmanship of NAC.

Mira Kumar is the other dirty example of misdirection. She is totally confused second generation leader who has got senior status by just being daughter of a famous leader. One time, she asks for reservation other time she demands that caste should be removed from file. How can it be possible Ms Mira? If you avail reservation, you will continue being reserved. Caste will never leave this land till we have reservation. Do not misdirect yourself?

There are many examples regarding these. Government misdirection is forcing other agencies to remain confused. Normal people have just no access to wisdom at all. Only few selected wise people make their own wisdom domain and act accordingly to achieve success and satisfaction.

Recently Supreme court of India said, ‘Caste is the biggest curse to civilized society’. Government is bent on going ahead with reservation after reservation. Caste system will prevail on this soil till we have reservation and caste certificates. Caste system will continue to haunt modern youth of call centers and BPOs till we have Gandhigiri. Gandhigiri is a cancer of modern Indian society. Statistics shown in Times of India (17 Sep 06) prove this fact.

Amidst all these misdirection, news comes as big surprise. This news reads, ‘Marry Outside your Caste Earn Rs 50,000/’. So bloggers go ahead and build your own information system, forget about your caste. Be directional and global! Posted by Picasa

Authority Over Life

Who has authority over life? Few people across the world are trying to misguide children, youths and adults alike to die irrespective of religion. Few people do these from hidden sites but surprisingly many do it openly and shamelessly in the name of their human rights. They are crushing the human rights of many of their followers on the name of religion. They are trying to prove their authority without any concern for majority. Today, Pope has come forward to save children, youth and adults of the Muslims and non-Muslims. It is great! Salutation to Pope!

Let peace prevail on this earth. But the question is how and how much? And next question is at what cost? Every body wants to live except those people who are misdirected by colleagues, circumstances, nation and relatives. But how to spread message of living when few are motivating and misguiding people to die?

In general, misdirected people go for drug addictions, corruptions, gundaism, suicides, misconduct and in extreme emotional cases terrorism. Young boys and girls with sufficient education are being motivated to accept the kind of terrorism which includes all evils of society starting from drug addict, gundaism, misconduct, suicide and murder. Like drug addiction, we must initiate a campaign on terrorism. This is becoming social evil of society. Today, no body knows who terrorists are and who are not? Why only Pope should speak for Muslims misguided youths? Where are the Muslim leaders? Why no Muslim organization comes forward when youths are becoming terrorists?

The evil of terrorism must be fought from all angles including religious. Why only Pope should speak about these evils. The leaders of other religious groups must come forward to save the people from their own religion. If it is not done, I have my own doubt that young boys and girls will not be able to do any constructive work rather they will become killer, murderer and terror too. They will die soon. This must be stopped in the society.

Hindu leaders also should take lesson and try to save their secular children, youths and adults. They should also try to speak clearly forgetting their old traditional caste discriminations. They need to forget that caste system is necessary to maintain the social fabrics. They should forget Gandhi and even Vivekananda who have spoiled Indian societies by furthering the caste system. They should talk excellence!

Mother who rears the child for nine months gets a pain when her child becomes terror. Mothers are crying all alone across the world. Muslim leaders are making fun of the tears of these mothers. They must get some lesson from Pope. Stop thinking intervention in your deprived and starved life. Accept these as lessons. Learn to be creator rather than destroyer!

Even few Government heads are following the path of destructions to maintain their popularity? Government should be based on basic human rights, proper educations (not only religious education) and basic amenities. Why we waste time and energy in talking irrelevant things in the 21st century? Is anybody interested? Given a chance, people will take command in their own hands. It is not very far. You just see the number of Muslim boys and girls sitting on the network and crying for freedom. They want a good life to live not die. They must be quietly thanking all those who are helping them to move closure towards freedom. Posted by Picasa
