Whom Are We Fooling?

Whom are we fooling?

One city of China, Shanghai has performed better than India. Forget about the cities of other developed nations. Awake – India Awake!

1. Shanghai has received $60 billions in FDI compared to India $59 billion since 1991,
2. In 2005, Shanghai’s foreign trade was $350 billion while India’s total trade is only $241 billion,
3. Shanghai port, the world’s largest, handled 443 million tones of cargo in 2005 compared to total cargo handled by 12 major ports of India 423 million tones,
4. Shanghai GDP in 2005 was $110 billion and has grown to a double digit rate for 14 consecutive years while India’s GDP is about 700 billion and has grown at an annual rate of about 6 percent for the past 10 years,
5. 430 of the Fortune Global 500 companies are present in Shanghai while only 220 of these companies have office facilities in India.

How pathetic it is for the poor? The poor hardly understands these statistics because no body has given them chance to grow to this level. But thanks to digital power, information is available on line. Leader need to be cautious. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh promised to make Mumbai as Shanghai long back just after he became took office. But promise is promise and they are made to break. Prime Minister must have forgotten that promise when he addressed recently in Delhi and made headlines in almost all the news papers of India. He asked private sectors to opt for reservations. Was it a compulsion of economy, development or simply state level elections? The biggest sufferers are those who do not have even the basic amenities in one of the fastest growing economy of the world. Can India compete Shanghai through reservation?

Azim Premji is vocal to object this kind of reservation at this crucial juncture of Indian economy. Can we ensure GDP growth in two digit with such lose talk and casual policies? As an economist, Prime Minister needs to have guts to issue the policies which are required to ensure the growth for the poor and common man. If we maintain 6% GDP growth, we will take almost more than one generation time to become developed. When Ahluwalia talks about more FDI and higher growth in two digit, they talks sense to ensure that we achieve developed status in less than one generation. Hello, Prime Minister, Learn from your counterpart – George Bush, who teaches his school children to learn math to ensure their value addition for the top jobs. Why are you talking such rotten and trivial issues as reservation? Reservation will never be able to make Bill Gates of India. And today we need one. Dear Prime Minister, please look ahead to empower your common man. Provide basic infrastructure to the poor. Then only we shall be able to compete with the world.

The recent poll conducted by Times group shows that 85% people are against reservation. You are Prime Minister of a democratic country, just think over whom are you fooling around? The common man has to pay heavy price for this democracy. The upsurge of common people in Nepal is the lesson for the future for entire world. The people will keep quite till they do not know much about democracy, deprivation and exploitations. The rulers will not be able to fool the people of this 21st century. Even undemocratic country like China can not take chance. That is how, I feel, Chinese President Hu Jintao has to praise Bill Gates for his magnificent creations of Microsoft. Who does not need Microsoft? Who is going to develop another Microsoft in this world? Chinese President is using operating system produced by Microsoft everyday. Can we fool even common man easily?

Western values which we generally recognize as democracy, human rights, free speech, rule of law etc, remain very confusing to normal citizens of the developing world. It is an other story that Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev says, “These are after all values that belong to the whole of humanity”. How many are ready to accept this? Timothy Garton Ash in his book “Free World” says, “Freedom is elusive, difficult, risky, hard to define, let alone to achieve, but those who are unfree, know exactly what unfreedom is.” I do not agree with that perception being a part of developing world. What is elusive in freedom? Freedom is freedom. Those who are unfree will never know neither will they have any way to know about freedom, unless educated or liberated. The person living like slaves, living in poverty and deprivation, as child labour, ladies living in veil and so on are living in a world where they know no freedom to understand freedom. They would never understand the free in freedom. That’s how literacy becomes one of the prime objects of a civilized society. Literacy of an open nature, not dipped with biased or religious bent could possibly show the meaning of freedom to the people of free world. We need to make the mind a fertile ground, fertile garden rather than dust bin or scrap-drain. We have to stop using mind as a drain and make a boon of the opportunities.

Timothy concludes wisely, “We (people of develop world) can, and should, offer a tool box of experiences in all aspects of transition, from how to write a constitution to how to deal with a difficult past.” It is a great gesture from the people of the developed world for the deprived lot of the developing world. Certainly, it could be possible to help in writing a liberal democratic constitution. It may help us to spread democracy, human rights and concept of free world. They may educate us to be and know about freedom and free. However the main question arises, how the westerners going to help us to deal with a difficult ‘past’, which they are, neither even their last few generations, nor have ever witnessed nor experienced. The life of the twentieth century has given as a glimpse of development to the people of the developed world. They have experienced richness across the board. They have enjoyed all the privileges and materialism of the world for the last two-three-four generations. But can we ever imagine the past of the people since last 2-3 generations of developing world? They have not only faced deprivation, they are not only forced to live in deprivation, they are not only preached to and convinced to live in deprivation, they are deprived of basic amenities. At the same time, they have seen the rich; they have seen the abundance of resources available to human beings. Also, they don’t have basic amenities in their huts or slums, but have seen the luxury of palaces, apartments and hotels, not only they have been able to earn a mere livelihood, they have seen billionaires and making of billionaires in front of their eyes and so on. They are not only illiterate, but they are being forcefully humiliated by literate. They can stand on a road crossing in metro cities of the developing world and witness the future. The past is not only frustrating but humiliating too. It may not be very easy to deal with the past even for the wisest people of this earth. It would be a traumatic event. They are not ready to deal even with their past. It is a challenge to growth of human civilization of the unfree and developing world. It is a challenge to deal with the past.

India needs progress. India has advantage that its citizens have witnessed and enjoyed freedom. India has advantages over other Asian countries including China and Pakistan. At least 30-40% Indians has experienced freedom. They are enjoying freedom. Indians are experiencing social, political and economical freedom. Indians are lucky. That’s how India is thriving to dominate the world. Indians are more conscious than ever before. Thanks to the brain drain of 60s and 70s. Indians have consolidated in developed land. Few of them are back here to motherland and they are going to make difference. Indians are here now with their billions. They are going to make difference. Prime Minister must understand these aspirations of growing Indians. Prime Minister must understand that he is the Prime Minister of a free country. He can not make fool to these conscious people. Prime Minister of India must be constructive to empower common man. Posted by Picasa

America Unlearning faster!

I Love USA.

Reasons are simple. Reasons are obvious. Whenever, I go on Internet; I owe Americans so much for the terrific knowledge and information. The country is great. The people are great. They are creative. They are progressive. They are innovative. Why only they, even they have provided facilities, jobs and situations for the people of developing world to excel in their respective fields. The whole world owes them so much for all the progress, developments and innovations.
America changes fast with reality. America is powerful for decade or rather centuries. Even today, in 21st century, whatever report, I get from USA is eye opening for me. America is changing fast with time. It is ready to unlearn its own history faster than even poor counties. Poor countries are still going in trivial and dirty ways. Poor countries are still preparing its citizen to remain poor through reservations and subsidies. Poor countries are still struggling to have fruitful and progressive democracy. Many countries are even today preparing their citizen for suicide bombing. They are not concentrating on constructive education. They are still teaching their young in old and conservative style. Even if, the whole world is witnessing the changes, poor countries are still behaving in egoist way. Poor countries are not ready to change. They are spreading jealousy. They are spreading poverty.
Just few days back, I read in the news paper that people going to foreign countries are being taught to behave. This is happening in America. Americans are leaders in almost every field of human activities. They are rich, powerful and creative from centuries. The news below confirmed my views to write this blog.

New jobs will go to India, China: Bush warns students
Press Trust of IndiaWashington, April 19, 2006

President George W Bush has warned the country's schoolchildren that if they did not have the skills needed to compete with their counterparts from India and China, new jobs would go to those countries.

The President was addressing a magnet school in Rockville, Maryland, on Tuesday, stressing among other things, the criticality of such subjects as Mathematics and Science.

Americans are the path finder for this primitive world. They are certainly learning things faster than anybody on this earth. That’s how I find any readable book in India is from USA. Any new ideas for constructive activities are from USA. Any new technologies are from USA. USA is doing great service for the humanity. When USA President is teaching their school children to enhance their skills, the President of other poor nation are teaching their young to die. When USA understands the necessity to spread and enhance knowledge to compete in this world, there are poor countries that are spreading violence and animosity. When the whole of USA enhance their knowledge in one universal language English, the poor countries are fighting in different regional languages. When USA enjoys such a fruitful democratic set up, other countries are still struggling to have creative democracy. Is this a curse of God or Allah to the large section of the population to have such a defective leadership in the poor countries? God Bless the population of poor countries amidst reservation, monarchy, autocracy, suicide and violence!

Is Ignorance Really Bliss?

Karan Thapar is confused now a day. He belongs to that Indian intelligentsia who has all the knowledge and authority to write, comment and analyze. He keeps writing left and right on whatever issues suits him irrespective of his expertise. Depending upon situation, he can write on any subject like Jaipal Reddy who could be the spokesman of any political party. Jaipal Reddy can speak good and bad points on any party and on any issue. Karan Thapar is also the similar intellectual who attends all the big parties of the capital and enjoys the closeness of all big shots of India. He can interview anyone. People feel privileged to be intervened or I call them as grilled not interviewed if they are not from his kind of thinking. Today, Karan Thapar has doubt. Is ignorance really bliss? But did you know that?

To survive in this knowledge era, there is no other bliss than ignorance. No individual can ever quench her thirst of gaining knowledge. There is no end of acquiring knowledge. As much you learn, as much you feel that you knew less. Karan Thapar knows this well. Even though, he asks few of the questions to satisfy few of the people and distress few of them. But did you know that?

He wrote a lengthy article on ‘is ignorance bliss’in the Sunday 16 Apr 06 Hindustan Times, Delhi Edition. In that he mentioned that how big is the problems of Naxalite Threat. Few pertinent data he gives. Naxalite threats spread across 40 % of country geographical area and 35% of its population. Naxalite violence rose by 30% between 2003 and 2005. 53% increase in the killing of policemen between 2004 and 2005. Each time Government spends on development in the affected areas, a sizeable portion leaks into Naxal hands. But the pertinent question is, did Karan knew these statistics earlier?

If he was aware about this statistics, then why did he not advise to Government through various forums? Why did he only enjoyed his closeness to the powerful and mighty without shouldering his responsibility as an intellectual to make the policy makers aware to take a better decisions? Why Government is still going ahead with popular schemes? Can this country become developed with those popular policies by 2020? Does Karan Thapar understand this?

Ignorance vanishes with learning. But is it required to destroy your ignorance? Who says learning is important? Gone are the days when learning was the only means to achieve certain amount of confidence and satisfaction in life. In the 20th century, when we have material worth twenty centuries to learn, it is almost ridiculous to presume that anybody would be able to learn all these things. Invariably it is as much as you learn, as it becomes clear to you that how less you know? When learning is not providing you confidence, then we are forced to think for the alternatives. More learning is making you more bare and exposed. More learning is making you under confident. More learning demands further learning. The learning needs keep growing. Learning is not at all the solution. Rather if we just try to analyze the situation emerging out of learning, we shall observe that it is unlearning, which we are supposed to do for comfortable situations. There is a requirement to decide about the domain of unlearning which is more important than learning.

A totally illiterate person has a terrific feeling that they know everything. The person from a village or town with less or negligible knowledge appears from the outside very confident. It is very difficult even to convince the person about the utilities and advantages of education. In that case, we find the difficulties of educating. Education is a very contagious element. That’s how a small child is sent to school. Children from very early age are trained to go to school in time. They are taught from beginning to read and write various subjects. They are trained to be disciplined from beginning. They are moulded from early age. If some one does not get educated at early age, it becomes very difficult to educate the human at later age. They remain either less, biased or marginally educated. They always remain in the illusions that they can live a better and successful life without the bookish knowledge. These confusions prevail almost all negligible, less or biased educated person.

Once you start learning things, you find that there is an endless list. Today, the subjects have gone so vast that it takes years together to finish the syllabus in one area of activity. A typical example is the study of medicine. You start seriously studying for approximately one and half year for admission in medical college during or after finishing 10+2 schooling, then you take five years of graduation, one-year internship, three years for post graduation, few years for senior fellowship, then further research on more specific subject of medicine and so on. It is a long list. As you keep acquiring these educations, you keep feeling that you know less. This is a typical paradox of learning of human being. The similar kinds of learning are required in other fields. Like, you take the example of Information Technology. Today, children are taught computers from the kindergarten itself. At any time, the education on information technology is not getting complete. A person can keep acquiring degrees and continue doing courses, it will never end. Every year, there are plenty of changes. There are new subjects, new hardware, new software; new areas of activities keep emerging. You have to keep learning or continue refreshing. The learning never ends. Rather, it keeps increasing.

Could you ever match your learning instincts? I feel a normal person with normal intellect will never be able to achieve even a part of her learning desire in the 21st century. It is very difficult to define and elaborate the learning needs. It is almost impossible to define the road map of learning for a child. There are few very typical examples in society, which forces us to think about the learning needs of human being. It is very interesting to learn a little bit about learning instincts of these famous personalities, most of us are aware of.

Sonia Gandhi, the third powerful woman of the world in 2005 as per Time magazine,
Rabri Devi, Former Chief Minister of Bihar, India,
Bismillah Khan, famous Shehnai Vadak, Bharat Ratna Awardee,
Gyani Zail Singh, Ex-President of India,
Mother Teresa, famous Nobel Peace Laureate,
Lata Mangeskar, famous Singer, Bharat Ratna Awardee,
Zakir Hussain, renowned Tabla Player

It is very difficult to define the learning needs of life. There is no end of learning. Is there a road map of learning? Or shall we prepare a road map for unlearning? Once a person understands the dilemmas, it is easily agreeable that there is no need to learn till the time there is clarity of learning requirements in life. However, before somebody thinks of learning, it must be clear to individual that there is absolutely no advantage of learning the things, unless the person has undergone a systematic unlearning process. What happened to Dr Vashitha Narayana Singh whose research paper is being used as a study material in Washington? He is compelled to live in a remote village of Ara, India, where electricity, water, road or even minor medical facilities are not available. His heart wrench clinch to nationality is not allowing him to unlearn the necessary things and this result as an absence of the basic necessities in his life. The mind boggling contradictions prevail. In due course of our life and tremendous changes of environment and situations, the unlearning needs have arisen significantly. These aspects have never been studied nor discussed in any book or article in detail. This would be new direction where the intellectual will have to concentrate to find and simplify the methods of learning and unlearning. Keeping those needs in mind, a very systematic approach to streamline the unlearning and learning needs of life based on different situations and aspirations have been worked out in the following paragraphs. The graph of unlearning and learning needs requires continuous updation to face different situations and occurrence in this Super Dynamic Era.

Karan Thapar needs to do few of the unlearning before he talks more on ignorance. Could he throw some light on who should be ignorant and who should have knowledge? Is he surviving on his ignorance? Is he preaching the world more of ignorance? He must be pleased. Did he know this? Posted by Picasa

Is Modernity a Curse?

Since childhood, people of the developing world have been hearing words like modern, advanced and these have become synonymous to Western culture. Rather, they remain synonymous to each other. They are synonymous to development, progress and good life too. Generally, they have been seen or annotated in two perspectives by two different set of people. One is blindly in favour of these concepts. These populations are in minority. They are generally very highly educated. They have been rich in not just one generation but they are rich for the last few generations. They feel the real impact of modernity and its necessity in every walk of life. They take various life-making decisions accordingly, based on these concepts. But the vast majority of the population feels or has been forced to feel and realise that modernity is a curse. Modernity brings a lot of turmoil and complexities in life and society. It is not good for normal or common human beings. It provides freedom which makes the individual bad and uncontrollable. They are generally less educated or mostly illiterate. They are not very rich, rather they are poor, not from last one generation but they are poor and deprived for the last many generations that they have records or history of. They feel the real impact of modernity in every negative aspect and its wastefulness in every walk of life. They take various life- drowning decisions blindly, based on those negative feelings. These feelings about the wrong impact of modernity have been impregnated in the mind of a poor by some selfish and shortsighted visionaries from society. These shortsighted visionaries are enjoying all the fruits of development and modernity but they communicate to society otherwise. They, sometimes unknowingly and sometimes knowingly, but most of the time do so because of their selfish mentality. They do not want other deprived people enjoy freedom. But the question is; has anybody evaluated these? Has anybody critically analyzed them? A few of the educated and advanced people just use these as a tool for their own protectionism of existing comfortable zone many a time even at their own expense. Today, when the majority of the population of the developing world is on the verge of becoming developed or so called modern, not because those old modern people wanted it, but because of external factors associated with these social compulsions, it becomes essential to analyze them. It is important to understand that for centuries, some marginal people have been successful in spreading the wrong messages of modernity to humans at the cost of the growth of human civilization. In subsequent chapters, these ideas would become more clearer.
Western countries in the last few centuries have passed through tough or difficult phases of a free society. They have faced the initial teething problems of emerging free society. They have conquered them one by one. Today the part of the world which is moving towards developments is fortunate to have those experiences and solutions with them. There is no reason to be fearful about such westernization or modernity. Rather, we need to face those challenges head on. If we observe, we will see development basically means moving towards westernization. In the East also, whoever is privileged enough to be developed, have one yardstick to follow and that is to follow the West. Can we ever think of developing and putting our half of human civilization under the veil and let them live like ineffective souls? Can we ever declare half of human civilization as only half of the other half? Could we ever keep modernity away from the common people and think of development? It is in the interest of all the developed people to ensure that all developing people also become developed in every sense. Developing people get a chance to enjoy the privilege, pleasure and freedom of development. It is time to forget east or west, south or north. It is important that all developing people become modern and western.
Modernity itself is a very crazy and progressive word. Every human born in the civilized world would dream to be modern unless there is no fear fact’ attached to it. If anybody claims thinking in the direction of President A P J Abdul Kalam who preached that to have small aim is a crime, they want to become modern. Modernity brings prosperity. It provides basic amenities. It provides freedom, liberty and a sense of achievements. Modernity brings success, satisfaction and new zeal to life. Modernity shows the path to human to live like a human. Modernity brings us away from casteism, regionalism and religious mindset. Modernity directs us towards free life. Modernity shows the direction to be the part of the free world.
When we talk about modernity and think of progress, we can understand the importance of unlearning in life in a very clear manner. When the world is pledging to make poverty as a word of history, there is no reason why can’t we think of growth? The people of developed world with the change in the world scenario after 9/11, have become very conscious and active in addressing the growth of human beings of the developing world. There is no reason for us to be inactive or indifferent towards our own growth and development. We can never find a solution to new emerging problems of humanity in the old traditional and conservative ways. We have to look for new concepts. The new concept must emerge from Asia. When the whole world is looking for a economic turnaround towards Asia, we have to look inward for those new concepts. America and European countries are making deliberate and conscious efforts to curb their ego and unite for the betterment of humanity; we have to rise and grab the opportunities arising from these unifications. We have to rise from our self-imposed superiority feelings towards our old traditions and culture to make use of new and emerging opportunities. Living in poverty, deprivation and discrimination can never be our tradition and culture. We have to unlearn all those self-defeating traditions and cultures.
Western values which we generally recognize as democracy, human rights, free speech, rule of law etc, remain very confusing to normal citizens of the developing world. It is an other story that Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev says, “These are after all values that belong to the whole of humanity” Timothy Garton Ash in his book “Free World” says, “Freedom is elusive, difficult, risky, hard to define, let alone to achieve, but those who are unfree, know exactly what unfreedom is.” I do not agree with that perception being a part of developing world. They are not ready to deal even with their past. It is a challenge to growth of human civilization of the unfree and developing world. It is a challenge to deal with the past.
That is how, the theory of growth evolved. Timothy Garton Ash appears so ridicules and that is where I have taken a challenge to explain those intricacies for the humanity. I have taken the help of few life critical factors during the lesson of unlearning. The crucial factors need to be defined and explained. The weak points and strong objectives have to be listed. There is sufficient amount of curiosity needed to delve upon the intricacies and dilemmas in achieving modernity and success amidst chaos. The people of developing world have to define their understanding on Modernity. But first just delve upon the issue – Is modernity a curse? Posted by Picasa

Chalo Delhi - Join Developed Group!

The civilization has witnessed tremendous change in almost every aspect including employments. GDP and kind of employment in different sectors have changed drastically in last few decades and these are going to change further. This will impact the way of transactions by the policy makers. Invariably, there is a significant difference in the understanding of facts by the policy makers. This results in wrong policy decisions. They are unable to give emphasis to correct approaches. In view of Challo Delhi campaign by The Times of India, we must analyze a typical example. There are three major sectors –
(a) Primary Sector – Agriculture

(b) Secondary Sector – Industries

(c) Tertiary Sectors – Services include knowledge, information and value-added. This includes innovative knowledge intensive products/services.
Figure:- EFFECT FROM DIFFERENT SECTORS (In %) (courtesy www.presidentofindia.nic.in )

Services

As technology leads to non-linear business growth, the predicted value for the year 2020 may not be totally correct. I feel that it will be different because of many social compulsions. Even if the prediction is assumed to be correct, there is a drastic need to change the whole orientation of thinking because of following illustrated reasons–
1. As Agriculture contribution is going to be less than 10% of the overall GDP of the country, the agriculture sector needs to be made attractive, competitive and friendly. Accordingly, priorities of the planner and thinker have to change.
2. As employment from agriculture sector is drastically reducing from 64% to 44%, the bulk of citizen should move from conventional location and profession to new opportunities in value-added services for innovation and knowledge intensive products. Policy makers are afraid to accept the fact of this data.
3. The person working in an agricultural sector has been traditionally very conservative and rigid in their approach towards life; they need to be encouraged to change their profession for the betterment of themselves and the country. They should never be given consolation that their life style will improve amidst deprivation.
4. The backward class, schedule castes and schedule tribes, who have been predominantly left behind in the last few decades from being the part of the economic growth or India Shining and Incredible India has to be educated and encouraged to move out off the frog well to harness the growth of civilization at minor disturbances and dislocation. They should be educated, motivated and encouraged to move to town and cities to take up better and well-earned profession with dignified life. This is a sever diversion from the earlier concepts by the renowned thinkers of developing countries but this has to be adopted to avoid the future catastrophes.
5. Indian Intelligentsia are still busy in finding the strategy in bringing down the scale of perpetuating rural migrations to big town and cities in search of job opportunities which I believe is in total contradiction to the need of a develop society. We need to learn first and educate the others about the significant statistical changes which are taking place since last few decades. The people must move out from village or smaller cities to the big cities. Government must improve building infrastructure to support these movements.
6. IT and BPOs together earned India $12 Billion in 2003 and by 2012, it is expected to touch $148 Billion according to NASSCOM– National Associations of Software and Services Company. The numbers of people employed in BPO sector are to be over 200,000. These manpower will be available when the people move from conventional professions to value added services.
7. There is a tremendous scarcity of educated and semi-educated person in the service sectors like Call Centres, BPOs, Software sectors, R & Ds, Manufacturing plants, etc., the recruiter need to move to small towns and villages to appoint and train poor, dedicated, sincere and hard working people for the benefit of this sector, irrespective of caste, creed or region.
8. The area where exploitation have been severe and no priorities have been given for the growth of population, are more prone to attract the attention and demand of the new industries. Either resettlement plan in those neglected area could be considered or people are to be encouraged to move to a planned colony for better amenities and better work output for systematic growth.
9. In the last few decades, there are few locations in India which have witnessed tremendous neglect from the planner to take care of the basic infrastructure like road, electricity and water etc. these are like North-East region, Bengal, Bihar, Orissa and Jammu & Kashmir. The situations are ripe enough to be utilized for systematic growth of the new sectors. These areas have to be considered for future growth.
10. In the years to come, a large population will move from the neglected areas like Northeast, Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, and Jammu & Kashmir for a better life to Delhi, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chennai etc. These movements will accrue many benefits for those neglected arrears. These will reduce the burden on the land. The people who move out will get a better life. The remaining and left over people will have more land to feed less stomachs. The remaining people, however, due to enhance economical changes will have to have a more sophisticated and systematic life. They will have to understand these changes and mould themselves accordingly. They will perforce have to unlearn all habits of so-called poor people.
11. The availability of basic amenities will broaden the living standard of large sections of population. They will unlearn things faster to have a better and dignified life.
The technological evolution will bring the changes smoothly. The change practice has to be mastered by the population to harness the benefit of technology for the human being. There is a necessity of new sets of thinking and ideas. The ideas should not be the slave of caste, region or religion. The ideas should not be the result of political compulsions. The ideas should not be the result of selfish attitude. The ideas need to be rational, based on future prospects. Change the old concept and move to Delhi. Challo Delhi! Posted by Picasa

Sania's godfathers!

God is great. 99.9 percent people born on this earth with almost equal intelligence level. Depending upon the opportunities, people perform and achieve successes. Sania is an intelligent girl. She is lucky that she born in a Muslim family. She was born to a father who was national level tennis player. Her grandfather was a famous tennis player. The sacrifices and hard work of three generations came to her as a gift on birth. She born in the state of Andhra Pradesh which was being ruled by Chandrababu Naidu when she was at peak of her career. She got all those support state provides for the growth of a player. She had her two generations of expertise even to get those help. Where is the need for her to search a godfather? However let us see the facts of godfather in this lonely world.
The world is all alone especially when you leave your level and move to a new and unknown level, domain and platform. Things changes even in normal movements, forget about the changes, which are going to be encountered because of changes in level and growth. The moment you change the level, plenty of aspects of life change. The friend circle becomes new. The relations become different. The person you are going to encounter on day-to-day becomes different. The aspirations of the people around you changes. The expectations of those people left behind gets a surge. With all these changes, it is a real challenge for individual to face them and sustain the new status. In a changed and new status, every other person appears to be enemy. Not only appears, every other individual behaves with you like an enemy because of social and human compulsions. You as an individual can not blame them. They are also human and they also have problems. They are there with all human frailties. All these result and leave you all alone in this world to fight and survive. Therefore, Ankita Bhambri, rising tennis star of Delhi, do not worry, search a godfather. She may be correct to point out that players are not getting support as sania got to make an impact at international level. She is correct. It is so difficult to get support in this starved country. Here stars are starved what will happens to others? (Refer my earlier blog).
Today the society has become conscious. The governments are ready to provide the basics education and other facilities. It is very common to find many situations like a boy from a poor family topped the CBSE board exam, a daughter of a rickshaw puller competed for medical entrance exam, the sons of a poor farmer get admissions in management institutes, a daughter from a small village gets selected for the USA airspace missions, and so on. These boys and girls when pass through various professional courses, they are left behind on the ladder of success because of non-availability of godfathers. Even if some are in a position to go to some distances, they are not able to sustain for a long time. They are left alone to face the turmoil of life in real sense. Excellence does not surface easily. It takes years of hard work. It consumes plenty of sincere efforts by so many related elements. Is looking for a godfather essential? We must and try to find one in dynamic way.
Ankita is correct to point out that if players in the country get the support like Sania got, they too can shine at international scene. Why talk about players? In any field of activities, if rising stars get support, there is no reason why people will not able to produce world class output. Rise India Rise. World waits for you to be developed!

Star or Starved!

India did fairly well in accumulating medal in Melbourne Commonwealth Games. There are lot of sportsmen and sportswomen of the country who deserves sincere congratulations from all citizens. I extend my sincere gratitude to all of them for their magnificent success. It is a matter of pride for star starved nation.

It was good that a function was organized to facilitate them. Prime Minister attended the function. The whole pleasant function became sour when sportsperson had to put up a case of their allowance in front of PM. They got merely $20 while they were expecting $50 which they had got during last visit in international competitions. If we consider the case of $50, it was the question of hardly few lakhs. But it is irony that Prime Minister has to get involved to sort out this simple and crucial thing for sportsperson on whom we are proud off. Based on these sportsperson, we have planned next Commonwealth Games at New Delhi, how could we ignore them?

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has spent an amount of Rs 40 crore in this Melbourne commonwealth game. When the question of payment to sportsperson came, we did not have money neither we had permission, nor authority. What nonsense? Then how could the money was paid to Mumbai hero and heroin in crores? Initially when the case in the news, I made an impression that they are singing and dancing for India free of cost. But subsequently, all my impression shattered. These artists were not patriotic. They were doing their business. They were doing job. They were earning money on the name of the country. Then why do they get sometime Padma Sri or Padma Bhusan or other national award. Why did we give Bharat Ratna to these artists if they are not performing free for the nation? I feel shame in calling them star. They have more money. They want more money. There is no end of their starvation. There is no end of their expectations. They are not stars but basically a starved people. Posted by Picasa

Faith As Middle Path?

I love India and hate Indian intellectuals. I love India because these Indian intellectuals whom I hate stay here. I love India because of these Indian intellectuals who follow America blindly. They just put some Indian colors and their own brand. Initially when I was young, I used to have admiration of Indian creators in different field like cinema, business, industry, philosophy and even religion. After I started watching and observing world sequences and happenings, I find all Indian creators remain a big copy of American visions. I hate Indian intelligentsias because there is hardly any originality in their writing or talking. They just try to copy here and there and try to make sense especially to large section of illiterate people. If that is the case, why not read and follow those American or Western authors, writers or philosophers. That is what most of the educated people from developing world does?

Today, when America is studying on prayer research, Sunday Times of India is full of those research analyses with Indian color. All Indian intelligentsias have become curious to write about effects of prayer. Hardly any agency is doing any study worth mentioning. There might have been 10 US studies in the last six years and US Governments might have spent more than $2.3 million on prayer research, but in India, we do not believe in spending time and money in researching. We just write. We write on statistics which indicates something else than what we try to make out with. Few powerful and influential people get chance to write. That is the fatal facts.

In India, you go to any nook and corner of the cities, town or village; you will find temples, mosques or churches. People talk about famous temples like Tirupati or Vaishno Devi. They have not been created or made in one day. They have not been constructed by some poor. I remember the case of Vaishno Devi, hardly few people use to go to temple, because track was tough and dangerous. Mr. Jugmohan had to put up lot of efforts to bring the complete infrastructure on the way to Vaishno Devi. So much judicious efforts have undergone to make that place a big hit. And after that, the number of people going there has kept on increasing every year. This is not a faith but a fun and adventure. People enjoy going there for fun, facilities and pleasure in adventuring. Can anybody name any place in India where you have such a facilities for mountaineering or trekking? There is no place worth mentioning. Even if you to deer park, police will come to you to tell you that the place is not safe after dark so you must return before dark. You can not stay in even Lodi Park. Today, if NRI comes to India with lot of cash, where will he go? He has to go to Vaishno Devi or Tirupati or Puri or Golden Temple or Ajmer Sharif or some other pilgrim place. This is not a faith but it is a compulsion. You as a normal citizen do not have much choice. In India at least there is hardly any place of visit other than pilgrims place. Where will you go?

Now when Deepak Chopra suggests following a middle path, you have to think. He says, ‘all religions were founded as a result of an experience of higher consciousness through a human nervous system’. As a doctor, he always puts the anatomy of human body in the discussion of philosophy. But he may not be correct to talk about how religion was founded. Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru in his book Letters from a Father to His Daughter (p-72)- has said, “Religion first came as fear and anything that is done of fear is bad”. It was fear only because of which many religions were spread. As the people understood the religion and God in little more depth, they also followed the path of their ancestors and spread a new religion with minor changes here and there. Even today, plenty of such new groups are being formed. They all try to spread the message of God in some form or other. They all claim to be taking forward the cause of almighty for the betterment of humanity. They all are working for the welfare of the poor, downtrodden and deprived. They all are claiming to be serving humanity in some form or other. They all claim to be passing the great moral values to society without which the society will not able to be disciplined. It is long and tiring arguments for the prevalence of a system and their followers. Deepak may not be correct and relevant with factual information.

Deepak Chopra further talks about the conflicts of science and religion. They are never at war. Rather, they may be complement to each other if leaders of both the field start thinking for humanity. As Nobel Laureate Dalai Lama of Tibet confirms that science has to be made an integral part of religious teachings so that religious people should know the basic fundamentals of Universe, Earth and other material things. All religion has to make science as essential part of their curriculum otherwise all religious teachings are going to produce terrorist as they are being produced in Muslim community all over the world. They have started taking place in almost all religion. The religious teachings are always associated with scientific progress. This is essential today otherwise how the Priest and Padari or Mullah is going to use mobile telephone or laptop. Even Osama can not depend only on Quran. He has to be well versed with nuclear technology too. The technology has become compulsions. The technology has provided enough means and necessity to accept these as brutal reality. There is no midway as Deepak proclaims. No religion can provide and help to live life if you are not aware about these hi tech instruments and appliances. Technology is a compulsion to this religious world. Whether it is middle or something else, every individual with desired sense of achievements could decide about this balance between religion and science. Are we ready to appreciate and understand this dilemma? Posted by Picasa

Reservation Kills Growth!

Reservation is doing more harm to reserved people than unreserved people. But the short vision people hardly understand this critical dilemma. Few powerful people and even organization takes advantage of this shortsightedness of people. Few powerful and intelligent people are using the toll of reservation to keep backward, schedule caste, schedule tribes or any reserved category permanently in the same categories through out their life.

Once you take admission or job under reserved categories, you remain so through out your life. Everybody in the college knows this. Everybody in the organization knows this. Even if you become intelligent, progressive and efficient, you remain backward, schedule caste or schedule tribes. You can not change your past easily even if try hard to unlearn your not so glorious past. You must do things in life which has a scope of expansion. You must do things in life which has a scope of progress and prosperity. You can not make yourselves permanently stupid. Who is ensuring this for you?

When I analyze in the Indian scenario, I find reality is entirely different from the actual facts. It may not be possible for me to explain all the reasons and justifications against reservation but few points which you have mentioned need special attention –

Service has expanded but not mind – It is not true in case of human generations. Every new generation is smarter and more intelligent than the previous one. Otherwise we should have never got Bill Gates or Goggle brothers. In India, we should not have billionaire in one generation time like Narayana Murthy or Dhirubhai Ambani, coming generation would not have been smarter. Earlier the same thing would have taken few generations as it took in case of Tata and Birla. Today’s people are smarter than previous generations. Do you need reservation to conquer this world?
Most societal drawbacks are a reaction, not conscious decisions – Earlier when I did not have access to knowledge and information, I used to feel these but once I have access of information and knowledge, I feel we are all misinformed in this world by some one who knows better than others. Even reservation is a very conscious decision of few selected privileged people to keep most of the population behind so that few selected one have uninterrupted domination over the large section. Reservation is the result of a very judicious and conscious decision. It is big game being played against humanity at large. This will vanish with globalization. This is already reducing fast and it will disappear when people achieve knowledge and prosperity. The advent of newer technology has already shown the way.
Globalization won’t solve problem because it is only economic based – Globalization word may have been picked up from economy but globalization spreads social balance. Once you have money, you have power. Once you have access of information, you have knowledge. You can take better decisions. Globalization will bring prosperity and freedom. It will bring joy and happiness. Globalization is creating and will further bring more free society.
Don’t play with sentiments of underprivileged - Whoever takes decisions to discriminate and exploit the society for their benefit will perish soon. The widespread economic base to large number of people will automatically ensures this in days to come.
Raven is also beautiful and famous – Gone were the days when only whites were beautiful or they can only become good actresses. This is not true any more. Haley Berry got Oscars, Raven as beautiful and famous is doing child serials ‘That’s So raven’ on Disney and so on. Our perceptions are changing and we have to change further. We have to change fast. If some old guys are not changing fast, it is their problems and they have to die with those problems. We all have to unlearn our glorious past for our own survival.
ITES and BPO has shown the way – Hello my reserved fellow, please kick any kind of reservation in your life in this Information Technology era. Do not get misguided to ruin your beautiful life. You have opportunities. You have tools. You can do it. There is no way you can opt for a reserved secluded fixed life. Get rid of these dangerous and well thought off shrewd misguided help. Enjoy the freedom and glory of growth. Unlearn Reservations!

Reservation as policy is also the brain child of Arjun Singh who is on death bed. He can not even enter in water without the support of two men from both sides. What can he do for others? He is too sick to take decisions for his own health forgets about the health of society. It is a different story that all over the country, people are unnecessarily wasting their time and effort in discussing and resolving these irrelevant issues. People are unnecessarily sacrificing. Arjun Singh rather better die soon than create lot of confusions in society for others to die. Arjun do not try to compete with Manmohan!

We have seen earlier and observed uselessness of reservations for last sixty years after independence. Has anybody become billionaire through reservations? In the list of thousands billionaire in India, do we have anyone from reserved category? Hope some better thinking prevails among ruler not to save poor but to save even themselves. Posted by Picasa

Reservation Ensures Discriminations

In old times, India as a nation has been leading in giving a vision to the world in the field of cultural and social dimension. In the last few centuries of oppression, it has lost its own wisdom domain and trivializes the whole issue of innovations. Innovations demand significant chunk of capital to prove and implement the benefit for human civilization. Because of the lack of access to these capitals around these times, the country and its people have lost direction. In 18th century, we worked hard on the path of liberation. The Sati Pratha, caste system, Dalit discriminations and other anomalies of society were handled for the benefit of human beings in general. In the last century, we mastered ourselves in copying from all across the world whether it is appliance, system, music, and culture or even dresses. Last centuries, I call it Xerox Century of India.
The end of the last centuries and beginning of the 21st century has given us dream, hope, capital and circumstances to be the leader of innovations. The glimpses of these leaderships have started from vast and successful working democratic set up of this country. The growth of Reliance Industries, Infosys, Biocon and Wipro, etc., has shown us the leadership. The production of car named ‘Indica’ by M/S Tata is a magnificent beginning. This I termed as Brand Leadership of India.
In the era of information age, we witnessed the mushrooming of call centers and information technology enabled services all across the country. This resulted in the transfer of the large funds from developed countries to developing countries like India. This has given the way for innovations. Innovations pass through difficult incubation phases. Innovations consist of stages like research development, technology transfer, technology absorption, productions of products or systems with significant world class performance, quality and cost effectiveness. It also depends upon its impact on the large section of the population. This demands a huge investment. This demand dedication and sincerity. This demands a devoted team. Today, with the systematic construction of strong infrastructure, India has the resources to venture into innovation.
The innovation needs design. Indigenous design capability is built through rigorous training in technology and design, development, fabrication and production processes through multiple institutions by the use of outsourcing and utilization of available national expertise. Wealth generation depends largely on design phase, which contributes about 60 percent of the efforts of the development of the product. The consideration for the quality of the product has to be built in during the design phase itself. The indigenous design and development capability is the key to acquire competitive edge. It is very important to understand the importance of design capability by technocrats, R&D teams, business communities and industry leaders. This is what the edge in 20th century, developed countries had. The developed countries had resources, manpower and capital to go ahead with innovation. The innovation made them rich. The innovation made them sustain prosperity and development. In this 21st century, India is poised to have this edge over others.
The evolving technological scenario of the world has provided immense opportunities to the people of the developing countries all across the world to harness the benefits. Because of the prevailing circumstances and situation, India is in a position to harness the benefit for the betterment of its 100 million populations subject to if these million are ready to unlearn old conservative style and learn the better way of living life. The innovations will give the tools and means for these effects.
The services industries do not demand a huge capital. There are many entrepreneurs, who have started call centres, BPOs, consulting services and other knowledge base services. These are generating tremendous capital within the country. These capital generations are making more billionaire every year, which will give catalytic effect to innovation. Once innovation starts, this country and its people will have an edge in all other aspects of life. This scenario compels me to call the Innovation Century of India. We need three basic qualities to harness the innovation and development.
1. Global Language – Every educated individual and policy maker of the nation should think over the language issue. We should not leave the regional language for the poor and deprived people. We should try to provide equal opportunities to poor and deprived one also to learn global language. All government run school must teach English language from the primary school to bridge the ongoing gap between rich and poor. The poor also should not feel as their duty to force their children to study regional language. We must learn and ensure other learn the global language. The knowledge of global language will pave the way for a very bright future of developing nation.
2. Eradicating Discrimination – Social discrimination has been a critical and prominent part of the human civilization just a century back all across the world. However as the society is developing and educations and prosperity increases, the discrimination between humans is vanishing. But, discrimination is still the biggest challenge to human civilization. It is like a cancer to humanity. We must make a policy so that all human beings are considered equal. There should be no need of reservations. Have America ever thought of making reservations for blacks to eradicate the drawbacks of black society? Has Africa ever done it? Is China doing anything like this? Indian political bosses also should take a lesson and find some substitute for reservation for backward, SC, ST or even women. We must eradicate discrimination by removing reservation. We should take other steps so that all human treat other human being equal. Reservations remain a biggest source of discriminations in India.
3. Global Thinking – We should not restrict our acquaintances with people of one country, rather we should move across the world. We should be ready to accept caliber from any parts of the earth to improve life of humanity. We must unlearn old ‘Missionary Phobia’. When Bill Gates of Microsoft Corporations fought to remove the ‘visa’ restrictions of the United States of America, there is no reason that we should not enhance the system and improve infrastructures to attract brilliant mind from across the world in various field irrespective of region and religion.
Today, when Arjun Singh as forward try to play the game of another forward to keep backward really backward, we all irrespective of caste and creed should discard at any cost. A reservation ensures discrimination and no body wants to be discriminated in this developed world. We all must unite ourselves to crush such game plan. Posted by Picasa

Great Indian Rice Show!

America and India are the two sides of the same coin in this world. This could be true from regional level as well as in the global scenario. They might be distinctly apart geographically but their interests, values and aspirations are same. Their strengths are same. The multiplicity of culture, tradition, religion and language are same. The acceptance of one global language i.e. English by all intellectuals of the nation is universal. They talk same. They walk same. Their goals are same. Their fears are similar. The threats are from the same quarters. Perceptions might differ from here and there. Perception of intellectual, less intellectual or more intellectuals within the four wall of nation may vary but overall concerns remain same.

The only vast difference between the two nations is that one has witnessed and experienced richness in the last century while other is thriving to encounter the prosperity in this century. The difference of these two great democracies in the world from rest is that both want more prosperity in this century. Both are willing to accept changes. Both are willing to learn from past experiences. Both are willing to unlearn past experiences. Both are willing to impart their contribution for a better world. Both are ready to innovate further in this world. Both are trying to achieve their objectives through openness, freedom, innovation and participation. Both are the willing and natural partners in this lonely world.

It is very difficult to create a free society. That remains a pre-requisite for innovation, achievements and success. The happiness prevails out of that freedom. The freedom of press, education, aspiration, contribution generates excellence. Excellence is paramount to achieve and develop better world. Today on the verge of Information explosion, freedom is the only choice to achieve contentment among human. There is no force which can bind humanity any longer. Freedom to excel is the key.

Today, when Condoleezza Rice says, ‘continued isolation of our strategic partner is the wrong policy of choice’. Fortunately this partner today is non other than India. I am so optimistic in this world after around thirty years for the right move of one the most powerful nation of the world. The powerful nation has responsibility to make a right move. The powerful nation has responsibility to give direction to this world. Power means responsibility, right direction and sense of authority. America is doing this correctly. The world will get benefited from these historic moves. Fortunately, they are happening through the hand of Rice. The world awaits its full fledged outcomes.

India has not signed 1972 Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) since it first tested a nuclear weapon in 1974. But today, it is ready to make 14 out of 22 nuclear facilities for civilian use thus open for international inspection. Rice was forthright to assuage some senators concern that deal could impact on efforts to limit the spread of nuclear weapons. Why not, she has the confidence of the support of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Briton, France and Russia. Indicating lack of understanding and appreciation, in India itself, we have many quarters that are against this move. Rice is fighting India’s battle in American Senate. India has advantage after all. Great Indian Rice Show! Posted by Picasa

Dirty Game - Jehad!

Jehad is dirty game started by one human against other human. In this twenty first century, it is imperative that we behave sensibly. Spread of any religion can not provide food to the poor. The religion can not eradicate poverty from this earth. The religion can not provide basic amenities. The religion can not provide medicines to dying patients. The religion can not stop bird flu. Every human being wants to live and enjoy life with peace including Muslims as Jill Carroll has felt. She rightly says, ‘I wanted to go home’. Why not? Any body should have liberty to take such steps.
Religious fanaticism is the useless means to achieve any basic need of humanity. Like Industrial Revolution and Agricultural revolution, Religious Revolution is the thing of the past. Caste system of Hindu religion or terrorism of Muslims would not be able to provide the basic amenities for human being. Society, like science, has a way of always moving forward. The question comes now is how far human being is ready to move with it. Today, we all should pledge in the name of humanity to rise above religion, region and sectarian to help ourselves. Everyone of us should rise and think in that direction. All humanity is privileged to be a part of this conscious evolution.
This world is a peculiar place. Everybody gets a chance to speak to Bush. Everybody has authority to question Condoliza Rice. Everybody can question Manmohan Singh. People simply feel pleasure in blaming Bush, Rice or Manmohan. People who blam these democratic personalities undermine the human effort to bring peace in this world. Who has the solutions for a better world? Who knows best for humanity? Everybody asks the democratic leaders to behave. But who questions Osama? Who question Omar Abdullah? Who questions people who are behind the scene and killing innocents mercilessly? Who questions terrorists? Who questions who bombed twin tower, parliament house or Varanasi? We are not sure of those identities. We are not sure of their aspirations. Anybody should have sympathy with those hidden fighters. Anybody has right to have soft heart for those hidden enemy of humanity. But my only point is that, O, gentlemen, educated, liberal, democratic and argumentative citizen, please find the people behind these attacks. Tell them to come forward and tell you their demand. Do not criticize Bush or Rice or Straw. Do not criticize democracy? Do not criticize them to become the enemy of the humanity. If you continue criticizing them, you will encourage making human bomb, terrorists, Afghanistan and Iraq. What are you going to teach to the young people? Human is fighting with hidden enemy irrespective of their religion. Let us set some rule to blame. Let us set some rule to praise. Let us set some means to achieve a peaceful world.
I have lot of praise and respect for Jill Carroll. She did correct. She took good decisions. Anybody who utilized the revelation of tape before her release as a means to attack on the fight against terror remains the enemy of humanity. We must exploit our brilliance to spread peace. We should never encourage or create a situation where we unknowingly support the people who are behind killing innocents in this world. We should never do any things which provide moral support to the hidden demon who wants to destroy this world. We should never populate the hidden enemy. Posted by Picasa

Old abits Die Hard!

I am of the firm believer that we can not do anything better in life if we do not unlearn our old traditions, beliefs, perceptions and ideas. We can not build a new empire of developed India on the structure of the old knowledge. I call this old knowledge as rotten one. They are not going to take us anywhere. They are just the waste of our valuable time and efforts. They just debar us from enjoying beauties of this precious life.

Learning is not at all a solution but many a time, these are the big problems, because you will have to unlearn, whatever you have learnt, if they are not good for your future. Unlearning will be more difficult than learning. But you do not have any choice. You will be forced to Unlearn. So Stop Learning, Rather UNLEARN or LEARN TO UNLEARN before it is too late to unlearn. It is the time to concentrate and know more about your Unlearn Quotient (UQ). (Based on the critical factors developed as a theory of human growth elaborated later, UQ is defined and explained in subsequent chapters.) Your UQ will take you ahead than others. Your UQ will pave the way for your better future. Your UQ will reduce the contradictions and ambiguities of your life. But the big questions is why unlearn? There are millions of reasons. The reasons are hidden in the belly of the growth of human civilization. It is not anyone's fault, but compulsion because of the way, the society has grown. It is the forced thrust upon activities; the human of 21st century has to pass through.

Unfortunately, in Governments set up, it is observed that the decisions makers are still relying on old ideas and methods. These ideas are based on our pre-independence and even post independence thinkers. They are mostly relying on old traditions and philosophies. They are based on old book of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Just after independence, two things were predominantly done all across India as far as broad policies of nation were concerned. One was to spread Gandhi as a role model so as sole of the nation could be inherently influenced and other was to establish all Nehruvian thinkers at predominant position from where the mind of the nation can be controlled. This philosophy controlled the decisions even after around 40-50 years of independence.

There is so much money being invested in last few years on the spread of Gandhi’s memory and Gandhi’s history. In today’s scenario, almost it is certain that Gandhi has lost its relevance. They are not going to make us shine in the world competitive environment. They are not going to bring any genius in this country. They are not going to help to create innovation in the Indian brains. The Gandhi ideas are almost useless. The ideas may be only relevant to spread poverty and mediocrity in the society. India is not going to develop with those philosophies. Gandhi has become a liability for the young generation of India. Gandhi has become the symbol of widespread casteism and illiteracy. Gandhi has helped to continue backward as backward, schedule caste as schedule caste, schedule tribes as schedule tribes, forward as forward and so on even after 60 years of independence and even when our economy has become one of the fastest growing in the world.

There are few set of people in this country who have taken the responsibility to rule from their birth. In this age of information revolution, they appear inconcievable but unfortunately, they are happening. They are happening coolly around us. Ther are few knowledgeable people who have taken the responsibility of all our brilliance and ideas. They have become the only source of knowledge and power to this fastest developing humanity on this earth. They are coolly fooling the people with their self interests. They are fooling the people with their rotten ideas. They are ensuring that only marginal set of people continue getting that privilege. They ensure that they have total control on the kind of information being passed to the common man. The common man has remained a puppet to rule over the large section of the population with their rotten views. The common man has become the tools in the hand of such scrupulous and selfish soles.

The appointment of Deepak Sandhu may be one example which came in the news but to my surprise beliefs, they are happening all across us through out the year. These are happening everyday in almost every field. They are happening coolly. Only few have the courage and convictions to fight against the set system. Narayana Murthy might be one of them. Who have done on his own and today has courage to talk different. But such people are very few and very marginal. However, if India has to develop by 2020, we can not rely on the imported thinkers from outside the country. We can never prosper on old ideas. We have to unlearn old habits. We have to understand new ideas. We have to generate new one. We have to innovate. Posted by Picasa

Faith is a Business?

In the ‘Times Trend’ of Times of India, Delhi Edition on 03 Mar 06, an article talks about the statement of France’s Lourdes. He says, ‘not enough divine cures being recognized now’. The time has come when no one dares to spread blind faith unnecessarily because of availability of mass communication. Earlier because of lack of proper communication, it would have been easy for many people to have a control on the kind of messages they want to spread. This has resulted in a situation when I can claim with certainty that faith has been made a business by many people.

The advent of TV has shown the truth of life at the doorstep of every child born to this civilization. The child growing in a hut in Mumbai or Kolkotta slum today knows and sees from her own eyes that what all exists in the White House. The Panwala from a small town of Biharsharif (Nalanda) in India have a glimpse of the life of the richest man of the century Bill Gates of the United States of America. They witness all the happenings on the streets of New York including the demolition of World Trade Center on 9/11. They see everyday, how the people live? How the people are having a life? What are the basic means of life and societies? Above all, all these information are available free of cost at everybody’s reach. Whether water, electricity, road or even schools are available or not, TV and its 365X24X7 broadcast is available to the human beings of this civilization. By the time the child reaches the age of 10, they understand what all they are privileged and what all they are deprived off? These facts will make a difference. These facts are going to make a difference in the overall perception of every growing individual.

The availability of information at the door step free of cast will make a difference in even blind faith. This availability of Information has given indication of the future world. It has exposed the truth. The truth which was known to a very few rich and privileged people of society, today these are available to all the people irrespective of cast, creed, region or economic status. In these circumstances, it is very difficult to convince the people of their set course of fate. It is very difficult to convince them that their miseries are the result of their deeds of their previous life. It is very difficult to debar them from their basic amenities. They can not be fooled anymore.

As far as miracle happening is concerned, people are very conscious of their knowledge and its benefits. Today, when Goggle’s brother comes to limelight with their sheer ingenuity and knowledge, everyone takes notice of that. It is not miracle. It is the willpower of human to change with time. It is the quest of human to achieve their dream. It is the dream based of reality. It is the sheer ambition and efforts of individual. Today when Bill Gates earned more money every month than many developing countries in the world, it is not a miracle. Bill is not going to accept this as miracle phenomenon. Neither any conscious person is going to accept this easily as miracle. We all have seen the way; Bill Gates has risen from his sincere efforts and superb products. The consciousness starts from early childhood days. Today, a small child seating in the drawing room of a developing countries witness all what is privileged to the people and children of developed part of the world through star channels days in and days out.

Is there any surprise today, if the major decisions of a house are being taken by the children of this civilization? All advertisement agencies are going ahead everyday to show the power of children and teens in the society. Even if the question of service tax or home loan comes, there are children to encourage the elder of this generation to motivate them. The children are helping the family to take futuristic decisions. Have you ever thought, from where this knowledge have creped in the mind of children? This knowledge to the children has come from the civilization growth. They have emerged from the exposure of information to these children. They have originated from the availability of knowledge domain to these children. The children who are giving decisions today as a young will change the whole concept of civilization growth once they become parents. That will be the real outcome of civilization growth to the human beings.

We may have temples, Mosques and Churches all over the place, but the quest to achieve a better life will always rule the mind of the young to achieve their dream. We have medical facilities. We have medicines to cure the difficult diseases. We have vaccination. We have government’s plan for polio vaccination. We have qualified Doctors. We have researchers who are busy in researching medicine, vaccination and future treatment for human beings. We are ready to develop clones. We have seen the spread of ADDs. We have seen the efforts of people to save humanity from aids. We have seen spread of bird flue. We are witnessing the pain of dieing with killer diseases. We are witnessing the efforts of researchers to find the treatment and medicines for these new diseases. How can we marginalize the tremendous human efforts in this information age?

We have seen injustices on the name of religion in Muslims. We have seen the killings of female foeticide in the richest states of India - Punjab and Haryana. We have seen mercilessly killing of innocent individual in the mane of Jehad on 9/11. We have seen kind of injustice being forged in the society in the name of religion. In Hindu, we have seen father killing sons and daughters on the name of sacrifice to God. Do you think that children are not seeing them? Can we make faith as a business anymore? The children of this Information Age when grow top adulthood would generate a different kind of society where it would be difficult to spread faith as a business. Posted by Picasa

Forget Reservations!

Hello my young, educated, internet friendly and innovative fellows – backward, schedule caste, schedule tribes and poor or rich forward people. It is irony in this country that we are still relying on reservation to see our development. Reservation is the worst form of discrimination of human against human. They have been started with the selfish motives to keep the backward as backward, schedule castes as schedule castes, schedule tribes as schedule tribes and over and above poor as poor. They have been done very intentionally by the biggest thinkers on this earth. They have been done very systematically throughout the evolution of Indian democracy. They have been forced in the mind and soul of rising leaders. They have influenced the leader’s mind of even today. The reason is simple. Till the time you will remain backward, I will remain forward. Till the time you will remain poor, I will remain rich. The backward, forward, rich and poor are all comparatives. They are nothing in its originality. Only one thing is certain as human that we all are human. We all need basic amenities to enjoy life. We all need fresh air to have deep breath. We all need air and time to do pranayam. We all need to enjoy this beautiful life. We do not want to be categorized as backward, forward, schedule caste or schedule tribes. We do not want to be categorized as even male and female in broad perceptions to avoid discrimination even in the womb. Let me live as a living being. We are human. And this identity has no crisis further. Do not give me any other identity!
The Indian market opened in 1992 under the stewardship of Narshimha Rao, then Prime Minister of India. He brought in Manmohan Singh as the Finance Minister to initiate the task. It opened the entire horizon of economic development. It has changed the way India looks at development. It has forgotten the subsidies days of beggars when citizens have to look towards the Government for their bread and butter. It is no more. The development has been phenomenal and encouraging. Even if many governments have been sacrificed on the name of progress or change, the pace of development has not altered. The planners have sensed the root of development and no planners can take any chance. The economy and society is developing at its own pace. It does not demand elusive support but it demands just no hindrances. The old and outdated economic views will not be accepted anymore. The civilization has witnessed the real development of individual, society and nation. This development is inevitable and every citizen or human beings have to realize these changes.
The development of China under the Communist Leadership is a clear example of these social compulsions. Why only China, other Communist countries have also sensed the compulsions of theses social changes. Even the Muslim countries and Muslim societies have realized the compulsions of these changes. The country like Malaysia is trying to become the first developed nation among Muslim world. In September 2005, in his keynote address to the two day Global Leadership Forum organized by the Foundation for the Future, an international think-tank and the Perdana Leadership Foundation, the prime minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmed Badawi said, ‘to bring forth the innovative spirit, one must go beyond education to also change values, attitudes, mindset and culture.’ Prime Minister of Malaysia wants to see his country as first among 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to attain developed nation status by the year 2020. Presently none of the OIC members has become a developed nation. No government has any other options. They have to focus on the need to change the values, attitude, mindset and even cultures. China has taken the drastic steps of changes to face the future. They have sacrificed their communist views as far as development is concerned. They are going ahead with the change of their own traditional values, attitudes, mindset and cultures. The Chinese have opened up the economy long back. They have even opened up to retail foreign direct investment (FDI) as early as 1992 for which even the Indian government is still discussing in the year 2006. The sweet result of this courage is that the retail world famous company like Walmart alone has delivered $170 million in taxes to the Chinese exchequer. And to the surprise of any conservative observers, the small family stores in China have went up from 1.9 million to 2.5 million since the time retailers came in. The Chinese have gone global. Why only China, the world has to move the global way. Few of the people for few of the occasion for few of the results could fool the person otherwise.
Today when Arjun Singh writes a letter to all State governments to ensure reservation, what is he trying to show? Is he trying to earn the name like VP Singh? Is he trying to become immortal in this poor country? We are still struggling hard to maintain our cities in good condition. We are unable to develop infrastructure which may attract FDI to maintain he GDP above 8%. We are still struggling to avoid unnecessary exploitation of our educated youth in call centers and BPOs. We are still struggling to ensure the spread of international level institutions engineering, managements or even medical establishments. We are struggling hard to provide basic education, water and electricity to our citizens. We are struggling hard to generate innovation. We can not do any of these things through reservation. We can not do any good to human by discriminating. We musty stop these cheap methods of earning good name. We must stop reservation. We should give chance to humanity to grow and prosper. Posted by Picasa

Should We Concentrate on Bigger Issues?

‘Identity and Violence’ might have been written with some purpose. It may be serious effort of a Nobel laureate Amratya Sen to write for Indian reader. Last year he came out with ‘Argumentative Indians’. This year he writes ‘Identity and Violence’. It may help in some way to make some identity to poor and downtrodden in this country. India is an excellence starved nation of 110 million. Still it is so difficult to make an identity. Everyday, every month and every year, some new identity is created and get lost in wilderness. The identity may be good for those who have them. Identity may be good for those whose ancestors have struggled hard to create them. Identity may be important for those who were born lucky in the privileged family and rich society. Identity may be good for few. Identity may be good to be resolved to avoid the clash among the underprivileged. Search of identity may be the quest of few privileged one. But just see the other side of the coin.

In India, 80 percent of the population born backward, schedule caste, schedule tribes and so on. They are born backward. They live backward. They die backward. It never changes their identity even if they may become doctor, engineer, lawyer, journalists, executives or any other high profile appointments including Ministers or President or any such thing. They remain backward. They are forced to live this life with that tag. Why only identity tag, I feel they live like a backward. They live a miserable life.

Why talk about the caste system of India? A person born in developing country remains developing even if he or she goes around the globe. Every other guy treats her like developing. They remain in this life with that tag. They remain developing. The person born in the developed nation has all the privilege. They have the courage and opportunity to write about the clash of civilization. They write about the clash of identity. They remain developed and enjoy all those privileged God has created most probably for them.

Think of the guys who are born Muslim. They are forced to live life reading Quran. They spend and waste most of their time in going to Mosque. They spend most of their energy and spirit in praising Allah. They are forced to feel pleasure in visiting Mecca. They are forced to live like a miserable life. They are forced to live life without basic amenities. They are forced to live life with the item and equipment invented by developed world. They are forced to use laptop and software developed by developed people. They are forced to live life in following only. They can never become the part of innovation. Their innovation ends with defining Jihad, Freedom, Allah, and Burqua. The ladies pass their secluded and free life within the four walls of Burqua. They can not take any major decisions. They are all born Muslim. They live Muslim. They die Muslim. They can never think of changing their identity. They live and die with their identity crisis.

Life starts and ends with specific poor identity. Life ends with backward identity. Life ends with developing identity. Life ends with Muslim identity. Life ends with forward identity. Life passes with those identity poor are born with. They pass their whole life maintaining those identities. Where there is chance to enjoy the identity. There is no crisis. There is no importance. Identity is a unnecessarily forced personality of individual. In this modern world, people of the 21st century want to take birth without any identity. They want to create their own identity. They want to live their own identity. Please do not stamp them with backward, forward, Muslim, schedule caste, schedule tribes, developing or developed or any such thing. They want to be the citizen of 21st century. They want to enjoy the life and privilege of the humanity of this era. Everybody born on this wants to enjoy a free human life. No body wants to born as female in Afghanistan. If choice given, everybody wants to take birth as a citizen of developed nation with all those freedom.

India is a country of Khandan and Gharanas. Every successful person belongs to some big Khandan or famous Gharanas. The identity of individuals is based on their Khandan and Gharanas. The person may belong to any field. The few famous names could be Kapoor Khandan and Khans’ in Bollywood, Gandhi and Nehru in politics, Tata and Birlas in business, Jaipur Khandan and Lucknow Gharanas in dance and music, south Indian as scientists, Bengalis as diplomats, Gujaratis as merchants, Sardars as hard workers and so on and so forth. After independence, especially the change of initial Congress Government after Emergency during 1979, things started changing fast. The changes taking place in India and across the world, America or Europe, gives me hope that a person could provide some input to humanity without belonging to Khandans or Gharanas. In that sense, I started getting entirely new feelings that I originate from yahoo.com Khandans amidst other Khandans like hotmail.com or rediffmail.com. And I belong to yahoo Gharanas. I am grateful to my new Khandan and Gharana. Can we ever recognize and search our identity based on our knowledge, experience, education, and connectivity. In this networked world, does identity has any other meaning? Can we go little more global away from our regional feeling, caste feelings and biased religious attitudes? Can we unlearn our old trivial and selfish identity?

Forget about identity. The famous economist is writing on history. Is somebody else taking advantages of his popularity? It is little irony from my thinking. Why does not he address poverty? Why does not he talk about how to improve the life of poor and underprivileged? Why does not he talk about how to improve the life of Muslim communities? Why does not he talk about how to improve the situation of women in this world? Why he does not talk about what he is famous for? He must pick up some serious issues. He must discuss why India lacks in Millennium poverty elevation program. Like Jeffery Sach, he also should come out with ‘End of Poverty’. He must address why India are unable to shine in the world competitive environment. He must address the issues which help us to become develop at least by 2020. When President and Prime Minister of this country are talking about India becoming developed, he also should talk about this and set some yardsticks. Will he be able to do? During the launch of the book at India Habitat Center, when I raised the question of identity, he agreed with me to have something like yahoo.com or hotmail.com but when is he going to spread this for whole humanity? People must address the issues which are required for humanity at large. Can we concentrate on some better issues? Posted by Picasa
