Scrap Knowledge From India

Indian cinema and Indian politics are two very dominant mediums for common people. Especially if we talk about Indian cinema, the quality has hardly improved by any standard. Since the last sixty years, we have hardly seen any changes in the basic structure of the movies. The stories revolve around similar plots of a hero, heroin and villain. Every year, we make heroes, heroines, villains, directors, producers famous but the story of Indian cinema remains the same. They claim, they make movies for entertainment. They hardly contain any realistic facts of life. They are a total misfit and misguided. With changing times, they are not able to provide any creative excitement needed in society.
Similarly, Indian politics still works on the principle of the 1950s. The illiterate voters are forced to support the old traditions. They revolve around the cult of a few individuals. These old traditional systems ensure that power remains within the purview of a few individuals. They do not allow the system to grow. Neither do they allow the new ideas to be implemented. They are trapped in their so-called cherished culture. These traditions do not allow growth. They do not have wisdom. They need to create wisdom domains for their futuristic ideas. Few years ago, when Manmohan Singh formed the knowledge commission, it gave some hope to this country. Today, India is on the verge of a crucial stage, the issues like reservation taking our energy and resources to divid3e the Indian polity. Some selfish people are behind this turmoil. The nation is suffering. It was ironic that government took the important decisions like reservation without consulting its knowledge source. Commission chief Pitroda claims that he came to know about reservation through news paper. Who takes decisions? Why do we have knowledge commission? It is better to scrape the ‘knowledge’ from this commission. Let us run a country without knowledge.
Besides politics, there is so much backwardness prevailing in different fields in developing society. This backwardness remains the biggest handicap of the availability of the wisdom to people of the developing world. They have to be conquered very systematically and meticulously. At every level of education, there is a significant amount of ignorance. There is no good thinker in society. There is no good philosopher in society. There are hardly any constructive ideas developed for the betterment of society. The few creative people have to struggle a lot. The people in general depend upon the imported ideas developed in the developed world. That is why; deBono, Stephen Covey, Daniel Pink, Jeffery Sachs, Malcom Gladwell and other thinkers from Western world are famous in developing countries. Where to get wisdom? Where is knowledge? Thanks to Americans, British and Europeans.
There are plenty of decisions which affect our life drastically without making us realise the quantum of repercussions. They are unimaginable. I doubt somebody has ever tried to calculate the loss and gain of such decisions. As far as the outcomes of such decisions are concerned, we have been contented with the remarks that these are the result of my luck or fortune or lines of the hand and so on. Forget about individual, such decisions have impacted the entire society but most of the time fighting against the normal decision-making process itself had been a big struggle in life. One has to fight with self, fight with close relatives, fight with society, fight with system, fight with nations and practices. It is whole list of fighting machinery which works against growing individual, developing nations and prospering societies. People call them as struggle, they generally call them as a process of growing, they call them hard work, they call them jugad (tricks), they call them as fate. But if we analyze properly, it is just a simple decision to make a life or break a life. But how many times, we ever get a chance to realise this simple facts. The so-called opportunity comes in our life just as a simple decision making moment and we fail, we fail miserably to take right decisions. Most of the time because of ignorance, fear, danger, lack of confidence and knowledge, pressure from uneducated or illiterate elders, pressure from so-called society or lack of support system, we are not able to knock right decisions at right time. Our decisions are keeping us slaves in a free world. Developing world is struggling in its own doings like reservations, casteism, terrorism, regionalism etc. Is there any benefit of the growth? Is it giving peace?
There are many turning points in nation building. We hardly ever realise or think of these turning points. These turning points in life keep the nation developing. The nation will never be able to become developed. The society has to develop. The individual has to prosper. There has to be opportunities. There has to be abundance of basic amenities. Indian capital is struggling to get twenty four hour power supply. How can we think of becoming developed? Our doctors are dying on the road. They are facing heat at India gate. What is this wastage of resources?
Most of us who rise on occasions and rise fast in the growing or developing societies find themselves orphaned. Invariably it happens with almost everyone in any part of world or in any society, irrespective of its financial situations. This is not the prerogative of poor people but even the rich face this challenge. We keep hearing about the high class suicide cases. Someone jumps from a five star corridor, someone from rich family put his wife inside the tandoor i.e. oven and so on. There are so many school children committing suicide after the results of class X or XII. An engineer preparing for his administrative service examination jumps from fourth floor in the Indian Institute of technology campus. These happen because of the sense of orphanism. When situations have arisen many folds to create orphanism in the society, we find life has given plenty of revolutionary things for the help of individual and society. We are forced to look outside. Brain drain can be the solution. One needs to change the living situations. The country must be awakening with these facts. What is the use to waste the brain in the knowledge less society? What is to do with this nation where knowledge is the last thing to be referred? Posted by Picasa
